Apparently, people can't help but immortalize Linda in some way. Our governor Gavin Newsom is about to induct Linda into the California State Hall of Fame, along with two other Latin-based artists, Los Tigres Del Norte, and actress Lynda Carter (remembered for having been Wonder Woman on TV during the late 1970's): www.fresnobee.com/vida-en-el-valle/noticias/california-es/article268159172.htmlP.S.: Pardon the pay wall on this.

Well, Erik, California finally has paid Linda some due especially since it irks you that LA radio does not play her at all. So Linda is in the Arizona State Hall of Fame and California's. eddiejinnj

It is nice to see Linda honored this way by our state; that this love isn't transferred to the radio stations in L.A., where she had lived for decades--yes, that does make me sick; it always has, and always will.

Lynda Carter is also from Arizona and has Mexican heritage.

Yes, she is--and the funny thing about it is that she lived right around the corner from a young Steven Spielberg when both were kids growing up in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix.

Is Lynda in the Arizona Hall of Fame, also? eddiejinnj

This would be the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame you're speaking of. Lynda is not in that one just yet, but it's just a matter of time (IMHO). Linda was inducted into the AMEHOF in 2007, along with Steven Spielberg and Stevie Nicks.

Correct, I remember Linda and Stevie Nicks received the induction the same year. Thanks eddiejinnj

It had me in tears. And what a wonderful and loyal friend Linda has in John Boylan who is often by her side at such important moments. They must be soulmates. He is such a kind and talented man in his own right. No wonder their lives have intertwined.

Holly, are you talking about WHEN Linda is first introduced and John Boylan walks a very frail Linda out onto the stage? Because that is what I referenced.

His loyalty to her is very very heart-warming. I am guessing but I don't think he is still involved with other artists to the extent like he is with Linda. He was very nice when I met him. eddiejinnj

Quote by eddiejinnj:
It's entirely possible that John's involvement with Linda is at or close to being total; and like all the great producers, managers, and artists of the 1960's through the 1980's, he really hasn't anything to prove to anybody anymore. It goes pretty much back to the period of late 1969 and early 1970, when Boylan got to know Linda and who really got what Linda was musically aiming for at the time, which was an artistically and commercially successful and unique brand of country-rock. The trust really goes way back and is quite deep (IMHO).

I saw the part so far where she was seated last. I haven't seen the intro or Linda speak. Too many things pulling at my heart lately. I'll give a watch later. Thanks!!! eddiejinnj

I thought that although Linda was a little wobbly on her feet, she came across remarkably well and happy to be there.
I’m glad she’s getting out and feeling the love that there is for her. Also thought she looked wonderful 😍

Wow--Jennifer Newsom really got choked up while introducing Linda! I'll bet Linda was being critical in her mind while listening to that singing clip-LOL. I'm glad she was able to be there and accept the honor in person. Yes, John Boylan is a true friend who has literally stayed by Linda's side throughout her career.

The Respect that the Governors' wife gave Linda was SO Heartwarming!! and the fact they PLAYED one of the Racheras' (sp?) I loved it
LINDA was VERY astute in her comments and vocal...but it was probably Meds that had her walking fast and wavering....

I said the same thing to my partner, Pop, when they were playing the audio clip. I said she must be cringing inside or saying to herself I could have got that note better, etc. eddiejinnj

It's unfortunate the the jury couldn't reach a unanimous verdict for Jennifer Siebel Newsom's case against Harvey Weinstein. I'm so mortified that he went to my Junior High and High School, but luckily I didn't know him.
