This is another big loss for Hollywood and London. I think we remember her turn in The Pirates Of Penzance, as Jessica Fletcher on Murder She Wrote, and as Mrs. Potts in Beauty And The Beast. And then of course there was her chilling turn as the Commie-obsessive Mrs. Iselin in the 1962 political thriller The Manchurian Candidate; her haranguing of her son (Laurence Harvey) in that classic Cold War film is absolutely disturbing in an almost blackly comic fashion.
Another great actress we'll miss, especially considering that she would have celebrated her 97th birthday this coming Sunday.
