It's an agree and disagree article. "Linda Ronstadt" was an improvement on HSHG & SP overall, but did not reach the impressiveness of DCN & very obviously HLAW. HLAW following LR was like a beautiful butterfly fully emerged from its chrysalis, wings unfolded and flying.
I am not a fan of belting for its own sake, that's just yelling. Anguished emotional cries in songs have their place (as in "Blue Bayou"), but belting-yelling is not music or musical to me at all.
