In one sense, I kind of have to question the timing and the motivations for this, given that Elvis-themed weddings have been an "in" thing in Sin City for ages. It probably will damage, if not outright destroy, the wedding industry that exists there.
But as much as Las Vegas (or Lost Wages [LOL]) defined Elvis, it was always a balance between the good ("Viva Las Vegas", both the song and the movie; the concert years of 1969-1972) and the bad (way too much of Las Vegas after 1972); and at the end, the bad arguably outweighed the good. Whatever the causes, The Man wasn't in anything resembling good health towards the end, and he was being overworked by a manager that cared nothing for the one client he had, arguably the single most important figure of American music in the second half of the 20th century.

The Elvis in the photo performed my wedding at the Graceland Wedding Chapel. He was of course younger and slimmer then. He is morphing into later period Elvis.
