At first I tried to play this on my iPhone and it wouldn't play at all no matter how many times I tried. But on my iMac I was able to listen to it.
Who are these people? Background? They are complimentary toward Linda so that's nice. I'm glad they didn't bring in politics per se other than that one dude saying that 1970 was the time of the "hippies." And he remembers what she wore and her "gypsy earrings."
Alamo Jones “The Voice in Black” worked cue cards for The Johnny Cash Show and toured the world with “The Man in Black” before launching his own recording career and serving as a trusty sidekick for the legendary Cowboy Jack Clement at the Cowboy Arms Hotel & Recording Spa.
He's a bit obsessed with her lingerie.

His is a different version of the underwear story. Usually I have heard that June demanded that someone get that girl some bloomers. But I've never seen June actually reference that in an interview or performance. (June does a version of "I Never Will Marry" where she humorously compares her delivery to Linda's.)
I have always wondered if the underwear story were true. Linda did mention the Johnny Cash Show in her memoir, but only mentioned a producer wanting to sex her. Perhaps he was enticed by the lack of underwear.
Choice of song, not inspiring. This station is supposed to be Outlaw Country. I hear Linda so rarely that I can remember every instance.
When Chuck Berry died, they played Linda's "Back in the USA" in their tribute section. Not a country song, but appropriate I suppose.
When Joe South died, they played Linda's version of "I Knew You When." Not a country song, but appropriate I suppose.
When Mel Tillis died, they played Linda's version of "Mental Revenge." A country song, not one of my favorites, but appropriate I suppose."
Oddly, I have also heard "Different Drum" and "La Cigarra" on this station. Not country songs
It's just odd that we have here an artist that has dozens of songs that would be perfect for the "Outlaw Country" format, but they rarely play her country material.
Exception would be Mojo Nixon. I heard him play "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" and he gave a nice tribute to Linda. And he said that Linda was the original and true queen of country rock, if I recall correctly.

My phone is ringing so I will pipe down.
Tony, I guess over all of these years, I've just become used to Linda not being played a lot on country radio. It is interesting that the choices he made when he does play her are songs like "It's So Easy" or "I Knew You When." Although, maybe only interesting to me, the Linda song chosen to be played in the film "Brokeback Mountain" was "It's So Easy." If I'm not mistaken, Heath Ledger and Linda Cardellini are in a bar and it's playing in the small bar. As for what Rob said about his "fascination" with her lingerie, I guess I figured that he likes to tell that story. We have heard varying versions of that story over the years -- sometimes involving June Carter Cash (who Rosanne Cash has little to no use for) -- that it's sort of become folklore or legend and oftentimes that's not true or some whopper version of the truth. Tony, how were you able to record that so quickly?
How did I record that? The Sirius radio in my car has a feature that I discovered by accident.
When listening to a station, it buffers up to an hour. You can pause and rewind. So I paused, rewound, and recorded it with my phone.
Also, it buffers the stations that you listen to frequently that you are not listening to at the moment. So you can switch to a station and press the back button to see what has been played the previous hour and listen if you like.
I used to have a portable Sirius player that had a DVR-like feature built in so you can schedule and record programs but I gave it away. It's not so necessary now because if there is a "special" program that you want to hear, such as Dwight Yoakam interviewing Peter Asher, you can usually find it on the Sirius website and listen/download from there.
Speaking of which, the Dwight Yoakam interview with Peter Asher was a bit of a bust. Asher was interesting with what few words he managed to cobble together but Dwight would not shut his piehole long enough to let the guest tell his stories. Still like Dwight Yoakam though-- he just needed to give Peter Asher more time.
Many people have wondered why "It's So Easy" was in the movie/soundtrack. It is just that; she was the soundtrack for the time the movie took place. If you were in a bar then you probably heard the song. eddiejinfl
