Fantastic!, I actually e-mailed HBO hoping they might rerun it sometime; got no response; Can't wait to see it; thank you for this posting. I might just have to make a donation to PBS during the fundraising breaks

Thanks, can't wait. Hope it's the full show with the songs that weren't included on the CD. Youtube removed the show before the cd came out.

PBS will be airing the 1980 Live in Hollywood concert on May 31st. I have searched the Internet, and the only PBS station I could find thus far is Oregon Public Broadcasting — www.opb.org/television/programs/linda-ronstadt-live-in-hollywood/ So far, not seeing it listed elsewhere. If anyone else has a link showing it airing on Public Television stations across the United States, please share the link.

It is listed on a Twin Cities PBS station in Minnesota. They actually have it airing on a few days. The 30th, 31st, and another day I can't remember. I sure hope the PBS station here in Madison Wisconsin will be airing it. My parents had HBO installed for me to see it when it originally aired back in 1980. My parents always did what they could for me to enjoy Linda Ronstadt. They knew how much I loved her. They always bought me her latest album even if I was in the doghouse for something I had done.

I also saw the same dates as above on New Mexico public radio. I have a feeling that PBS will make the feed available and local organizations will opt in or out. I'm going to contact my station (WNIN) to see if they plan on carrying the program and on what dates. Stay tuned!

Presume this will be a remastered version of the video too as per the snippets that are on YouTube in promotion of the album release.
What a strange way to do this .... why not Netflix or Amazon prime. Such as small release - poorly handled again.
I really do not think John Boylan is a good businessman !

fabtastique it might well be going to Netflix and or Amazon Prime after airing for a while on PBS. Both Netflix and Prime stream shows that originally aired on PBS. If so airing it on PBS first THEN turning it over to Netflix and Prime will give it even more legs than just streaming would.

I haven't seen anything about this from either one of our PBS channels (28; 50) here in L.A., at least not yet anyway.

If it does happen that it gets shown, I hope it has been restored, in terms of both audio and picture quality. We are, after all, talking about a 40 year-old special here (YIPE!!!)

Typically when these musical specials are shown on PBS stations, there are tons of interruptions asking for donations. Often the donations include a DVD of the program. But since they're calling it Live in Hollywood, the gift for donating may only be the CD.

Boss, Where did you get that pic? Looks like Joey Ramone with a midriff on and the dark glasses or bangs covering eyes. I tried to enlarge it so I can see detail. I also quickly thought of Lenny Kravitz. eddiejinnj

There are still some songs from the 1980 show available on Youtube. As the quality varies considerably it will be interesting to see the remastered versions.

There are over 350 PBS stations in the US. A very broad audience and larger than a paid streaming service. Hope most pick it up. Some are showing it on June 7th. Those overseas however may not have access but PBS does have streaming apps.
