It's extremely scary, at least to me, to re-listen to that album and find out just how unbelievably fresh and unique it is, not only in Linda's discography but any other female artist's discography--and it is forty years old.

Great article, thank you. And thanks to the dog walker. I love Linda saying that "mad love" is what was occurring in her life at the time, and Waddy on Linda recording live with the band.

Spot on about attempting to compare Linda to Debbie Harry or any other Pop singer of that generation. Her greatness in every aspect of music is finally being appreciated and acknowledged. Linda's generosity is highlighted once again in her praise of Elvis Costello despite his criticism of her song covers at the time. Mad Love more than stands the test of time!!
