"Off the mark" is being very kind. This is awful. (1) "sex symbol" in the second sentence; (2) "Heart Like a Wheel" is most definitely NOT a country song; (3) nothing about Linda's style in "You're No Good" is "reminiscent of Aretha Franklin." Anyone who would sum up this album with "pleasant" needs to listen again or should be fired. I wish I could say that "M.J." (Mike Jahn) was just some pop/rock hack assigned to a primarily classical magazine but he wasn't: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_JahnJohn Rockwell was also on the High Fidelity "Lighter Side" review staff. Too bad that he didn't draw HLAW.

Linda and Kinky on the same page, cool!!!! Did you tell me that, Tony? High Fidelity probably could be called the Popular Mechanics of the music biz. That the way I think of it anyway :-) Who knows? What you think, Boss? eddiejinnj

I'm a fan of both Linda and Kinky. She has made many great albums. He has made a lot of mediocre albums. I didn't see the point of reviewing these two together. They have nothing in common.
