I received the Blu-ray disc of Linda Ronstadt The Sound of My Voice yesterday.
I haven't watched the movie again but I did check out some of the extra footage. That included interviews with Karla Bonoff, Andrew Gold, and Waddy Wachtel. Karla was shown in the film, but Andrew Gold did not speak. I thought that was an oversight, as he was an architect of the Linda Ronstadt hit sound.
The disc says it is region A but my player says it is an all-region disc.

Tony, thanks for sharing this. I ordered the Blu-Ray, but it hasnโt arrived yet. My understanding is that among the bonus footage is an anecdote told by Dolly Parton about Linda baking something to bring to a recording session. Any sign of that?

Amazon is already sold out of the DVD on 12/11/19 (one day after "release") - i.e., "Only available from third-party vendors". Had to order from Best Buy at $19.99 (more than the Blu-ray price at Amazon). What was the "final" DVD price at Amazon?

I hope the video portion of some of the old concert footage and interviews looks better on the smaller screen. Have to admit I was surprised how grainy and poor some of the older footage looked on the big screen at my local theatre. I guess the director/producers only had some old VHS tapes and maybe even Betamax tapes to work with for some of the clips. Linda has admitted that she doesnโt collect or hang on to much of anything, so I guess she wasnโt a resource for archival materials. Wonder if any of this amazing footage can be โre-masteredโ or upgraded or whatever to make it even more enjoyable.

I received mine and watched it Saturday. I believe someone here reported that they saw the filmmakers and that there was a story told by Dolly that would be in the bonus extras. It is not. There are three bonus footage interviews: Karla Bonoff; Waddy Wachtel; and Peter Asher. I had hoped there would be more. But I am very happy to own the documentary on Blu-Ray.

Discs imported into the UK from the US will play on a laptop with a DVD drive using the VLC Media Player. Received mine today with no problem. Next step will be to try it on my DVD player using a hack which has worked before.

So ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป my Blu-ray turned up tonight a week early (great you may say?!) and shipped from Germany (promising) but it doesnโt play in U.K. Blu-ray player ..... I really wish the tv and film industry would scrap this nonsense over region codes - the music industry embraced this years ago and releases albums at the same time worldwide (as opposed to weeks / months apart as they did in 70s / 80s) but video is still far behind.
All it encourages is piracy - anyway I now have a great new coaster for my cocktail !!

I bought it there in Canada for just fifteen dollars, ten dollars cheaper than the dvd.

I had the same predicament. No information on either cinema or DVD release here in Australia. Numerous searches and calls to 2 major DVD retailers drew a total blank. As far as I can determine there are no immediate plans for its release in this country, which is a shame as all her releases do sell here (but probably only in small numbers).
