What’s New has to be the album released / rereleased in the most ways I believe.
As well as the original release (album, cassette and LP) I have 3 different CDs (SACD, 24kt gold, DVD-A) plus an 180gsm vinyl.
It’s a great sounding album but I really wish some of her other wonderfully orchestrated and produced albums were given the same treatment.
CDMP or CLARHLTW for example.
I have all of the Whats New CDs ripped for listening on my phone - and I can say that the one marked SACD premium sound - is remarkably different, clear and sharp compared to the others which are all converted in exactly the same way.
Of course on a decent home surround stereo system they are all wonderful!

Now would be the time to revisit Cry Like a Rainstorm. It's been 30 years. And a product is needed in the stores for the upcoming Kennedy Center Honors. (Do people still buy music in stores, though?)

Amazon. And there are still some independents, like Canterbury, Amoeba, etc. Barnes and Noble sells CDs. B&N even offers exclusive editions with bonus tracks. So does Target.

I buy more physical product than ever .... vinyl is outselling CD for the first time in decades.
Yes - there is a real need for something new to be out to tie in with the the success of the documentary and the Kennedy Honora

The Sound of my Voice is scheduled to be released on Blu-ray and DVD on December 10. They can be pre-ordered now.
I agree that Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind needs a re-issue for its 30th anniversary this month. It's insane that it has been allowed to go out of print. Actually, it's insane that ANY of Linda's CDs are out of print. If Elektra won't keep them in print, here's hoping that Rhino will.
