This just posted today I believe. I really liked this guy's stuff, he knows what he is talking about and is generally positive and non judgmental in his reviews. Here, he discusses Linda's finger picking technique during her version of 'It Doesn't Matter Anymore"

Not that I'm an expert on these things, but I thought he did a very thorough and detailed explanation of Linda's guitar playing. It's a side of her many of us would have only gotten to see via these videos, because she seemed, as with a lot of things, very self-conscious or seemed to feel she wasn't worthy in this area compared to other players she had worked with. As this guy says, though, she is very good at this traditional finger-picking style, which is well suited to her folk/country music predilections. And in a much earlier video of this same song, from what was I believe Don Kirshner's Rock Concert from early 1974, where she guested with the Eagles, she dueted with Bernie Leadon.
I also recall that she and her producer/manager John Boylan tried sometime in late 2011 or early 2012 to do an album that was a throwback to her early country-rock period and which involved her taking up the guitar again, but the onset of what she later learned was Parkinson's weakened her hand movements as much as it weakened her ability to sing.

I've watched several of this guy's videos on others who play guitar. He has one for Elvis, which I wasn't too sure I wanted to watch because a lot of people are dismissive of Elvis' ability as a musician. But, as with Linda, he offers a very thorough and detailed explanation of Elvis as a guitarist, and it was all high praise. Very refreshing to see such an appraisal, and coming from someone who is a guitarist as well. He also has an appraisal of Dolly Parton as a guitarist, which I've been meaning to watch but haven't had the time.

I wish that was something John had been able to do with Linda. Late 2011 to early 2012 was about the time Linda had said she had retired and that she did so because she was sick. She knew something was wrong but she didn't know what. I had also seen a comment on youtube, which I think was from around 2010, maybe 2011, from someone who claimed to know Linda. And he or she said Linda was very sick, but they didn't elaborate on what was wrong with her. I discounted the claim because they also made a rude comment about her weight, which was uncalled for. I think the person who wrote the comment was assuming Linda's illness was weight related. Her diabetes, yes, her Parkinson's, no.

Another bit of appreciation from a fellow Tucsonite, guitar teacher Jamie Anderson, who breaks down Linda's version of "It Doesn't Matter Anymore", though it's in a different key from Linda's. Jamie points out that she got this off of a video of Linda playing the song on acoustic guitar in concert (one of the four or so we know about), and she says that Linda plays it in what is known as the Travis finger-picking style, the style originated by legendary country/blues guitarist Merle Travis back in the day:
