I noticed that too. Maybe it's because those albums are out of print now and ones in good condition are considered collector's items.

It's partly true - mostly Amazon JACKS UP their prices on the last couple of new ones they have in stock (when the originals are no longer being produced). Since these are directly from Amazon, they are new (not used). For these albums, if you want a spare (for the car) it's best to purchase from 3rd parties (which is called the Amazon "Marketplace") and look for good or "like-new" condition. However, sometimes those prices are sky-high too. If you look at other albums (probably like Mad Love), Amazon is out of stock.

Today, I found 2 vinyl copies of "What's New" both with cello on them but a little worn (albums in excellent shape just not cello) and a frame worthy vinyl "Simple Dreams". Also, before that today, I found a copy of a 2 record vinyl set called "The New Spirit of Capitol." It has Linda's STGN. Has bios inside of all 13 artists including Linda and Joe South of "I Knew You When" fame. eddiejinfl

I just saw the movie about Linda Ronstadt. I liked it very much. What a voice; so strong and clear. I had no idea she did all those types of music. I'm guessing she didn't come to San Diego too often for concerts. I do remember Blue Bayou. Congrats on such a good movie. I'd to look into the classics album she made. Would it be on Amazon.

Quote by sandiegochica:
Actually, I think one of Linda's earliest really big concerts was when she and the Stone Poneys were on a triple bill with the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield at what is now Valley View Casino, but was back then the San Diego Sports Arena, way back in January 1968, right as "Different Drum" was nearing its peak position of #13 on the Billboard Hot 100. And she was did do a number of shows in the 1970s, along with, I think, a Mariachi concert or two in the wake of Canciones De Mi Padre being so big.

I found another copy of FSR at a thrift shop yesterday. CD mint. Case excellent for a buck. I find it unbelievable certain other titles went out of print. I forget which ones offhand but while reading through posts I saw it. Also, been scouring books in those kind of shops for Linda's book. I look for cool books to read too. I like that you never know what you going to find. eddiejinnj

When you get into the audiophile CD or LP releases of Linda albums, those prices seem small.
