I am streaming KXCI now. Thought I missed some but duh the time difference. They playing Linda related stuff now. They played "I Bid You Goodnight" (you can hear Linda's harmony clear) on Nicolette's Lullaby Album. Now "All That You Dream" by Little Feat on. eddiejinnj
They playing "Let's Get Together" by the Stone Poneys now. Never heard that on radio before and ironic that I just brought this song up!!!!!!! now "How Do I Make You"

The pic above is from the Facebook page of the Documentary itself. I do not have Facebook so wanted to let everyone know in case someone wants to let them know they put "Song" in title vs "Sound". ^^^^ Nice H. Diltz shot. eddiejinnj "That's Why I'm Here" (James Taylor album reference)

NPR (Steve Inskeep) "The singer Linda Ronstadt is 73 years old today." Heard it at least a half dozen times and typically right before the news briefs...

Happy Birthday Linda! I was wondering if she would get a shout out on NPR. Didn't hear anything this morning I guess 'cause I was up too early or I missed it being a sleep while driving to work. I'll see if I hear anything on the way home.

Quote by rick:
Yes, one of those highpoints in Linda's career as a performer, with she and NGDB giving a C&W classic a modern updating.
That being said, however, as one person on another board that I frequently visit has pointed out, practically the only segment of the music industry that has yet to acknowledge Linda in any meaningful way is the country music industry. Linda had a substantial impact there, even though, not counting the Trio projects, she never considered herself a country artist in the strictest Nashville sense of the term. Without her, the genre would have been devoid of women like Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Brandy Clark, Carrie Underwood, and tons of others.

Well, I am not sure who funded the Hollywood Star but at least in that way she is being acknowledged as part of one of the most influential country groups ever in my opinion. The first one was nominated for the Grammy Album of the Year and back then that was a big deal. I have to look that up again. When is the star ceremony happening again? I know one of the requirements for a star is to be present at the unveiling ceremony. Maybe the Country Hall thinks there will be issues nominating her since much of her music was outside the genre though in general terms the country powers that be and fans have been quite kind to her and she was able to crossover more easily than others. One thing I read this morning was that she had better crossover appeal than the Eagles whom seemed to not be able to make such a crossover. eddiejinnj

Good work my friend. We both done Linda good!!!!!! eddiejinnj PS: I purposely used an adjective vs an adverb. I just do that because way back my step-daughter said "good" is and "well" is an adverb and I said you are correct so I try and catch myself not to do that but it just seemed to fit this am.
