I'm following them on the Internet. As of this moment: Kacey Musgraves took home a stash (said ironically) for Country Solo Vocal Performance ("Butterflies"); Country Song ("Space Cowboy"), and Country Album ( Golden Hour). Willie Nelson took Best Traditional Pop Album for My Way, his album of pop standards, including said title cut made famous by Frank Sinatra (and, at the end of his life, by Elvis) Brandi Carlile, the Seattle-born Americana artist known early on in her career for dressing in a Cub Scout uniform (sound like anyone we know?), tore through the American Roots Music field, winning for American Roots Performance and American Roots Song, both for "The Joke", and for Best Americana Album ( By The Way, I Forgive You) Lady Gaga has won for Pop Solo Performance ("Joanne"), and Pop Vocal Group/Duo ("Shallow", with Bradley Cooper). All the results can be found here: www.grammy.com/grammys/awards/61st-annual-grammy-awards

I had DVR'd the show. Watched the parts that interested me. Dolly Parton, the MusiCares honoree this year, performed a medley that included "After the Gold Rush" in a nod to her "Trio" days. I was glad to see that The Punch Brothers won. Chris Thile, a member of The Punch Brothers, as well as a member of Nickel Creek, host of "Live From Here," etc., was not in attendance saying that he would rather lose to fellow nominee Joan Baez. Punch Brothers' win for Best Folk Album

And then the true shocker that I don't think anyone saw coming: Kacey's Golden Hour becomes only the third country album to win the overall Album Of The Year in the last fifty years!

I think Kacey, herself was stunned more than the rest of us. lol.. But I'm glad she took the award. Big Fan. Really enjoyed the Dolly,Miley and Marren Trio... I also feel J Lo did a great job with The Motown Tribute.. Too bad she is getting so much negativity because she isn't black...

Quote by Dianna re. J-Lo/Motown tribute:
I saw some of the Twitter comments about that. I am of a somewhat mixed mind on this, because I think a lot of the negativity towards J-Lo with the Motown Tribute is more of a perception (not necessarily a reality, but a perception) that she made this more about her than about a great record company and its stable of legendary artists.
On the other hand, however, it is not out of the question that at least some of this negativity is based on her being Hispanic, and Motown, of course, being about African-American artists. And with respect to that kind of slamming, it would seem to me to be roughly the same kind of reverse racism that I have always felt Linda put up with for covering three Motown classics in the 1970s and being a White chick (and half-Hispanic herself). The folks at Motown had no problem with Linda covering anything of theirs; and if involving J-Lo in the Motown tribute was the label's idea, then I think it nullifies the slamming she's getting.

Well I don't feel J Lo made the performance about her.. .But I guess all performers make it about themselves... they have to.. Actually, the only critique I've heard is the tribute should have gone to somebody like Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia.. ect.. i.e. black...Nothing about the performance itself, which I thought was great.. Even Smokey Robinson gave the thumbs up.. Yes, Linda got similar crappy treatment.
