Harold's original download center is long gone. There are fragments available in different locations. I often come upon them by mistake.
This thread is to place downloadable audio and video together in one spot. Obviously we don't need to post everything on youtube that has been there forever on this thread. There are obscure locations where material is stored that one doesn't ordinarily know about or find.
And if you can't download, enjoy watching them!companion thread: ronstadt.proboards.com/thread/5664/downloading-videos

So purely by mistake I found this site which I believe is from Russia. There are videos there that have disappeared from youtube or other American sites.
I can view them but I don't know how to download them safely. If anyone knows how to do that please enlighten. my.mail.ru/video/search?q=linda%20ronstadt

Жанр: rock, documentary Продолжительность: Parts One - 02:00:00; Parts Two - 01:08:05 Год выпуска: 2013 Выпущено: Capitol Records Режиссер: Alex Gibney, Alison Ellwood Исполнители: Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit & others • History of the Eagles, the iconic band's acclaimed documentary, is now available on DVD, Blu-Ray and as a limited edition super deluxe box set. I only had that problem if I tried to skip ahead or review. If you go up and down the video list while watching a video it will also pause or get funky.

Oh how I would LOVE to re-find her version of “California Blues” or Blue Yodel by Jimmie Rodgers. Can’t fibd it anywhere. It begins with very funny banter about water spilling on the stage. And she forgets Rodgers name. Then nails the song. Awesome

Rob — Isn’t a file with a .rar extension “Real Audio “? Wonder if there is a conversion program online to convert it to something you could play.

Rar Files are Compressed Archive Files.
Programs such as WINRAR and WinZip open and extract the contents of the RAR file.

Rar Files are Compressed Archive Files. Programs such as WINRAR and WinZip open and extract the contents of the RAR file. I downloaded the 7zip and was able to open the file. Sounds great. I have two versions of the song California Blues. One was performed in Detroit and the other in Washington D.C. Sound almost the same to me. Now the question is how to post it here.

Thank you for sharing, ronstadtfanaz! I believe (philosophically) more Ronstadt music in more hands will ensure her legacy and will actually preserve the hard to find stuff for posterity. My own recording of her concert that I didn't share is ruined with age. Had I upgraded it to a cd or digitally saved periodically that wouldn't have happened. This isn't about bootlegging or making money it is about sharing with individuals for their own enjoyment and legacy issues. Linda's voice is pure joy. We need more joy in the world. More light.

Well said ,az. Unfortunately, there are some people putting out bootlegs for money. Holly A. was on the cover of one of them rt? A true fan would know what she looks like and how to spell her name. Eddiejinnj

When you think about it even bootlegs are doing a service. They too preserved so many performances of musicians over the years that would have no doubt been lost with stricter enforcement of the laws against them. In Linda's case her bootlegs proved how excellent she was "out" of the studio in a live setting. They also gave us "live" albums we have all been thirsting for. There will always be a market for that but with the new media outlets almost anyone can put these performances online for free which eventually may kill the bootleg industry while still keeping Linda's legacy alive. Hers was the perfect "transitional" voice between musical generations all the while being the most "inclusive" cultural icon breathing new life and pride into our southwestern Mexican heritage like no other.

Any Linda music is better than none by far. It just that official releases have been forthcoming including the new live album (which imo and a number of others agree should have inlcluded the whole concert). These official releases might get even more attention and sales as the releases could be timed and strategized. Unofficial releases are great for Youtube as long as poster is not doing anything illegal eg: violating copyright laws etc. On the way up to stay with my Dad again (if you pray please do so for Ed Sr) we were listening to the cd with her first 3 solo albums one it and HSHG and SP on one disc. I ordered my live album copy. Eddiejinfl

Eddie, sending prayers to Ed Sr. Like you, IMHO, yes, they should have released the full concert. I think part of the reason is that the VINYL is limited to how much it can hold, and they (the record companies) want the vinyl and the CD to have the exact same content. Trisha Yearwood said she had to leave “In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning” off of the CD because it would not fit on the vinyl. Talk about the tail wagging the dog. But, yes, I have ordered “Live in Hollywood,” too.

Yes, best wishes and prayers for your dad. I have gone through illness and then the loss of both parents as many or most of us have. Never easy. But better later than sooner so I am hoping for a great outcome and he will be happy to have you there.
I have since read several articles that quote music artists chagrin about not being able to include full concerts because of the same logistics John Boylan has pointed out. He is a first class guy so I have always taken him at his word because I know little about this stuff. I doubt we would even have this new live album if not for John and his efforts.

I never knew about the vinyl issue and I still am not thinking of the importance of their release. I know it is making a comeback but it just didn't occur to me re: the vinyl issue would be the space limitation. It could be a lack of knowledge in the extremely technical re: the recording sciences but the new live album has 12 songs that each last at about same running length as the studio version except perhaps for YNG. I don't doubt whatsoever the word of John B.(I introduced myself and my partner to him at the Long Island Book Tour Show), I just don't see what I am missing to fully understand it. You absolutely on mark Az re: the fact that it might not have come out without him. Thanks so much all for all the well wishes for my Dad. eddiejinfl
PS: We were inquiring about concert schedule for Immokolee Casino to see who is around and The Little River Band is playing there. So I went into a info bio of John for my partner including that he produced the Little River Band.
