My iPod happened to play California Blues from the '74 Detroit show the other day. I've since played it on purpose about 5 times.
A "new" Ronstadt song, not a live version of a recorded one. She really rollicks on this and her singing is pure country blues. Wonder why she never recorded it? The song is such a natural for her.
Fortunately, the bootleg sound is pretty good, too, considering.

Thanks for posting this. Do you know if anyone else recorded "CB" so that I know I found the correct song; assuming it is on youtube? Us fans still finding these hidden treasures, imo, keeps our interest piqued. Eddiejinfl

I did a search and found a very good recorded version of California Blues by Ronstadt Generations.. but no Linda

The '74 Detroit concert was posted on this forum awhile back, along with some others. That's where I got it. They weren't videos, just audio tracks.
If anyone wants it, I could email to you if you send me a message. It's 5.3mb.

Here's a rar file with the only two performances I could find, (from the tela.sugarmegs.org site) in mp3 format. The recording of the Detroit performance is better quality than the Georgetown one. I find I prefer her vocals from Detroit a little better (although Georgetown has some nice variations too), I like the instrumentation in the Georgetown version a bit more though. www.mediafire.com/file/466a9xh6ft6cudh/California_Blues.rar/fileNote: the WinRAR version used to unzip should be 5.0 or higher. Or use the free 7-Zip decompression program.
