A few years back the Oscars had a special tribute to the James Bond films and when the clips ended, out came Dame Shirley Bassey to sing a stunning version of “Goldfinger.” I was 7 years old when “Goldfinger” was playing in heavy rotation on the radio. IMHO it’s great to hear a female singer with a powerful voice who knows how to use it and when to rein it in. I thought it was one of the most thrilling moments on the Oscars in recent memory —

IMHO it’s great to hear a female singer with a powerful voice who knows how to use it and when to rein it in. I thought it was one of the most thrilling moments on the Oscars in recent memory — Yeah, it was a great moment because it was so unexpected. I think she came out just after Adele sang "Skyfall." Those are two of my favorite Bond songs.
