A true blast from the past. I went to the university library every week just to read the latest Billboard Magazine for anything about Linda and I remember that week well. It was a very exciting time for Ronstadt fans.

I remember the first time I heard this song.
I was a junior in high school and working at a Mexican restaurant. DCN was my first LR album, and I was still obsessed with it (and in love with her) in 1974.
One day someone played YNG on the jukebox and I loved the song instantly. When I went over to the jukebox to see who was singing it, I was stunned to find out it was Linda. Nothing on DCN had prepared me for YNG.

And it's important to remember what the success of both "You're No Good" as a single, and Heart Like A Wheel as an album, really did, and not only for Linda herself. Not only did both vault her into superstardom, but both (and subsequent albums and hit singles of Linda's) had the net effect of inspiring literally generations of female artists that have come along since. Linda, in so many ways, became a spiritual role model to these women. I would go so far as to argue that she has probably influenced more female artists than anybody else who's come along in the last fifty years.
