Great stuff - she remains a tough interview. Very kind and sweet but so guarded and now simply slower. Maybe she gave us what she wanted us to know long ago and that is it. Still, when Linda smiles my heart just melts. Thank you for posting.

I saw a documentary last night concerning Dolly Parton, Emmielou Harris and Linda Ronstadt performing together in 1973. Got to say Ronstadt was definitely the looker of the three. Rather like the fact she has aged gracefully, seemed the humblest of the three and a real shame she has had health problems.
Not really followed her career, she was just a name. But I'm certainly a converted fan from hereonin

Love how she talks about Sorrow Lives Here - one of my favorite live performances(from years ago - in Atlanta.) She mentioned a live version in Japan - that she was satisfied with. Anyone have that one? 78/79?

Anyone have that one? 78/79? Linda nailed that whole concert in Japan. It seems she lost some of her inhibitions there. Maybe being out of the country has something to do with it. Her performances in Germany were also spectacular, especially Down So Low.

Thank you. Will indulge myself with the Japan show - if it is anywhere as electrifying as Offenbach or Atlanta (I was there at 16 years old) will be thrilled. Oh to have a legit live recording of a full show. The remastered Simple Dreams is very fine - vocally so gorgeous - always wish for more though.

I had heard Long long time, in particular, several times over the years on CD etc. and was always one of my favourites. she is one incredibly attractive woman. |
