hereIn 1987, Linda Ronstadt created a global mariachi sensation with her album Canciones De Mi Padre, which was based on the traditional mariachi music of her childhood. The album went on to be the most successful non-English language album in American recording history, selling two and a half million copies in the U.S. alone, picking up a double platinum certification and winning Ronstadt a Grammy Award. In Viva La Tradicion! 30 Anos de Canciones De Mi Padre at the Ford Theatres, José Armando Ronstadt hosts some of L.A.'s favorite artists to celebrate the landmark album's 30th anniversary, including Ronstadt's niece Marisa Ronstadt, all-female mariachi groups Las Colibrí and Las Jovencitas, and Ballet Folklorico Ollín, who will re-create scenes from the original Canciones De Mi Padre tour.

Love the colors in the painting!! Well done!!! The album probably has made triple platinum status or more but no recent certs. Hopefully, they can also promote Mas Canciones too by including some music from there. I wish El Crucifijo was on the first Spanish album since it sold so much better. I know this release was the start of the phenomenon with a huge show tour and PBS Special but "Mas Canciones" is equally good and deserves more attention/discussion. "Frenesi" is remarkable but it is in a different Latin genre. eddiejinnj

I love them all . . . Frenesi is one of my most favourite Linda albums though, her voice is spectacular on this record

Yes, I remember you always saying that Fab. To me that is Linda's dance album. Mariachi is very danceable but Afro-Cuban is sooooooo sultry and sexy and fun to dance to. eddiejinnj
