Linda has changed her picks over the years. Mine are fairly consistent. While they may not all be the best technically I would call them favorites.
male james taylor female linda ronstadt popstar elvis presley songwriter jackson browne jimmy webb favorite group Beatles
I believe Linda's favorite group was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers if I remember correctly. (at least for awhile)

A work in progress of songs and artists Linda has claimed are her favorites. She has said The Water Is Wide was her favorite song of all. Surf's Up is her favorite Beach Boys song with God Only Knows being their best song as well as the best pop song ever recorded. Pet Sounds being the best Pop Album ever along with Paul Simon's Graceland and one of Bob Dylan's albums right up there as well. Since she chose to record a song from Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited I will include both versions of Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues, his and hers. When asked about her favorite band she immediately cited Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Like kindred spirits, Tom has also taken the obvious influences of Dylan and others and incorporated it into his style. You can hear the same influence on Linda's version of Tom Thumb's Blues. Linda especially loves the Petty boys band who helped her out on her album Feels Like Home.
Linda has mentioned several women among her favorite singers. The first being that of the beautiful and incomparable Annie Lennox who like Linda can remake an old song to be every bit as good or better than the original.

Before I checked online my memory serves that the heartbreaker boys as we shall call them for this post were on "We Ran". Glyn Johns (The Rolling Stones, The Who production fame) produced the album. eddiejiinj PS: Maybe they were on "The Waiting" but I do not recall them being involoved with FLH.
