Here is another Americana artist worth considering...with the difference being that this is a female "outlaw" of sorts. Her name is Jaime Wyatt, and she is originally from the town of Wasco in the San Joaquin Valley. She has a 7-song EP release entitled Felony Blues; and some have compared here voice, every once in a while, to Linda. I read about her a few months back because she was being compared to Linda. If I remember correctly she has come from a difficult background. Can't recall if it was just about drugs or prison or what but her music sure is worth listening to.

Yes, when she was 17, she developed a drug problem, robbed her dealer, and proceeded to spend eight months in a county jail--so her life is indeed that of a C&W song of sorts.
As to the similarities between her and Linda, I think it is that Jaime has the feeling of the groundbreaking stuff that Linda did leading up to, and including, Heart Like A Wheel. I could especially conceive of Jaime doing "Willing".
