I just watched 3 different appearances of Linda on the Tonight Show from 1983, 1986, and 1989. All 3 times, she wore Black outfits. I guess that is one of her favorite colors to dress up in.

Also known as the "Lady in Black" whereas Johnny Cash was the "Man in Black."

I just watched 3 different appearances of Linda on the Tonight Show from 1983, 1986, and 1989. All 3 times, she wore Black outfits. I guess that is one of her favorite colors to dress up in. She seems to wear more black-colored or dark colored clothing these days, although she certainly wore her share of lighter colored clothing during her early days and her most successful days. I also recall that during the 60s she wore that blue/purple dress with gold stripes a lot and she was quoted as saying that was all she had to wear for appearances, which I found rather odd. Odd because there was that amazing outfit she wore on the front cover of her album "Hand Sown Home Grown." Was that just for special occasions? And as I am one always wondering about whether Elvis was aware of Linda, during his appearances in Las Vegas in 1969, he wore dark, black clothing but in 1970, he started wearing the white jumpsuits. I've wondered if he had bought a copy of Linda's album with Linda in all white, liked what he saw and had his first jumpsuits modeled on Linda's front album cover? And if so, was Linda ever aware she had influenced Elvis on dress? Linda also wore a short white dress for her appearances on the Playboy club and she wore the dress for a few publicity photos. And then there was the long, floor length dress she wore on the Johnny Cash Show when she performed "Long, Long Time." She looked just incredible. Linda looked good in whatever clothing she chose to wore. Black seems to be her favorite color these days, though it would be nice to see her in some other colors every now and then.

It's slimming, especially as apparently the camera adds 10lbs!
