Thanks, Pop!!!! I saw the show come on the other night and I saw Linda in the beginning into but I didn't stayed tuned as I had no way of knowing when and if she would be on the show for more than a mention etc. So this is Linda singing one whole song? eddiejinnj
PS: I went to the link and Linda is doing Los Laureles. She is listed last on the songs they have on tonight. Unless you have a certain app, you only get samples of the songs.

From the info on the website, it looks like they should include the whole song. Let's hope it's more than a brief snippet...

Wish I had read this thread an hour ago! I was surfing around and surprise-there was Linda!!-for about thirty seconds. Hope this airs again. By the way she looked beautiful both in the newer appearance and old "Padre" clip.

The show included a nice segment on Linda towards the end of the hour which included some clips of her rock performances and the transition to Mexican music. There was also a short interview and she sang a few lines of a Mexican song, which was huge surprise! Not sure when this was filmed but it doesn't look that long ago. They always repeat these PBS shows, so you should be able to catch it again. It was part of Episode 3 on Chicano music. You can probably also watch it online on the Channel 13 website.

Based on her comments here about wanting the Stone Poneys to do a Spanish album gives credence to rumor that there is a Different Drum Spanish version that a friend of mine claims she had a recording of at her home in Ajo, Arizona. I didn't pick up on this when it first aired in 2009 or so is that she said recording Canciones de mi Padre cemented her personality back together again. It must have been a tremendously grounding experience that she needed at that time in her life. Probably better than any psychiatrist could do. She followed a bliss that was so strong that it started a movement in the Latin community that continues until this day not just with Mariachi music but with Mexican American pride. This music can even be heard in the jungles of South and Central America. Probably Antarctica too. No doubt the (celestial) aliens are playing it also.
