I have to agree with Erik about the talents of Tift Merritt, and agree she deserves far more exposure. I also want to share on probably my favorite singer songwriter of this century, the multi talented Regina Spektor. Regina fans have always appreciated that she has never been a 'June Moon, does he love me' songwriter, and here she turns a song from her new album into a howl of rage about the insatiable capitalists who always want 'more, more, more'...
Regina has always been cinematic in her songwriting, and some creative soul has taken a song from her new album (written as a likely tribute to Wes Anderson) and used to show the imagery inherent in the song:
