In just the past week, we have lost four icons of the entertainment industry: Mary, John Hurt, Mike Connors and now, Barbara Hale, TV's Della Street to Raymond Burr's Perry Mason, dying at the age of 94. Before she was Della, she appeared in a number of movies along side such heavyweights as Jimmy Stewart, Jimmy Cagney, Fred MacMurray, Robert Young, Joel McCrea and Frank Sinatra. She was one of the movie actresses who made the reverse transition to TV roles, which many movie actors looked down their noses at doing. Her son is actor William Katt, of "Greatest American Hero" fame. But, it was her role as Della Street for which she will always be remembered, working for Perry long hours into the night and never complaining, always amiable and always classy. RIP, Barbara. www.yahoo.com/news/barbara-hale-dies-perry-mason-005055094.html
