A fond memory I have of New Years Eve was watching Linda Ronstadt on Dick Clark's New Years Rocking Eve. My grandma slept over that night and she stayed up with me to watch it. When Linda sang "Love Has No Pride", She said "She has a good voice". Here is a link to see the show:

Here are some things to consider about this year, and the fact that it ends in 7, because it marks a number of important anniversaries for Linda.
1967 March--The Stone Poneys release their first of three albums, which will mark 50 years that Linda has been in the spotlight. October--"Different Drum" is released by Capitol as a single (from the second album Evergreen); and thanks to huge airplay in L.A., it becomes Linda's first big hit single.
1972 January--Linda's self-titled album is released, with its stellar combination of contemporary singer/songwriter material and a number of C&W classics, plus the guys who would soon become The Eagles among those backing her up.
1977 August--Simple Dreams is released, and eventually becomes the biggest-selling studio album of Linda's career, spending five weeks atop the Billboard Top 200 album chart (the entire month of December), and giving her four Top 40 hits, two of which ("Blue Bayou"; "It's So Easy") would be in the Top 5 at the same time (12/24/77), something never done by a female artist before that, and not done by anyone since the Beatles did that in April 1964. Simple Dreams was the biggest selling album by a solo act/artist, male or female of 1977.
1982 October--Get Closer is released; and although it isn't quite the success of her previous albums, it does see her put two Jimmy Webb classics into her repertoire ("The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress"; "Easy For You To Say") Get Closer was nominated for 3 Grammys including Linda's second nom for Best Female Rock vocal for the title track. Kosh won a Grammy for Get Closer (Best Album Package).
1987 March--Trio, the landmark and ultra-traditional country collaboration with pals Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris, is unleashed on an unsuspecting public, and becomes one of the biggest selling country/pop crossover albums of recent times. Also, "Somewhere Out There", Linda's duet with James Ingram (from the 1986 Spielberg-produced animated film AN AMERICAN TAIL) becomes a #2 pop hit.
November--Canciones De Mi Padre, Linda's homage to her father's Mexican heritage and the music of the US/Mexico border region, becomes, against all odds, the biggest selling foreign language album by an American artist (female and otherwise) in history, a record that it still holds.

Thank you for posting New Year's Rockin' Eve. I too waited in anticipation to watch it that night. It was the New Year kick off but also the Ronstadt kick off. Her career finally began to take off after night.
I always add up the years numbers to tell me the year. For instance 2017 is a "1" year and 2016 was a "9" year. Each one of those year numbers do have meaning in numerology. Let's hope the presence of a 7 is as you say an important number for Linda (and the rest of us) because we are going to need it for the next 4 years. Trying to think positive.

I hope as many people as possible are recording these historical videos as they often disappear seemingly for good.
That New Year's Rockin' Eve that Mr.Kap posted is priceless. We should all be checking youtube constantly for any shows of Linda's we are aware of she had done but were never posted or were once posted and gone. I am hoping her Mike Douglas performance with Ozzie and Harriet shows up as does her appearance with George Carlin, It's Happening, Virginia Graham Show (Girl Talk) and any other number of shows that Ausfan has listed.
