Anyone know more about LR's tribute at the Eagles' Kennedy Centre Honours. Linda narrated their segment and they showed the clip of Glenn & Don backing her up at The Troubadour (where she looks so hot I can hardly stand it.) She did great narrating the piece and it was a really good show overall.

When Linda was narrating the segment, it showed Linda talking about The Troubadour and that not only did she meet Glenn Frey and Don Henley there, but it showed pics of Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Carole King, among others being there. They showed Linda singing parts of "You're No Good" ad well as "Lovesick Blues" with Glenn and Don supporting her. There was no mention of Bernie or Randy.

Wow, it is so cool that she did this for them. It continues to show how intertwined in music history she is and her influence. Did they announce her as narrator or the like? eddiejinnj

Quote by eddieinnj:
Ringo Starr (you may have heard of him [LOL]) mentioned onstage that Linda would narrate their story, as she indeed did.

I don't think there was even a single shot of Bernie Leadon which was weird.

Anyone know if there is a more complete video of Lovesick Blues at the Troubadour? All I've ever seen is just about 20 seconds or so. Thanks

If you are able to use the comments section on that page you should do it. I don't have any of those accounts. Maybe it will show up on youtube some day.
The guy who sang Henley was pretty darn good. Ringo is Joe Walsh's brother in law? Must be an inside joke.

Actually, this edit is asinine. Ringo star clearly says "....Linda Ronstadt will introduce the Eagles....." (not an exact quote) and the clip includes zero reference to her. Anyone watching it is left scratching their head. We should not be surprised. Rolling Stone has already proved itself an unreliable and biased publication for anyone seeking truth.

this sort of thing happens all the time with online clips of award shows. The retrospective clip package is often removed.

Joe Walsh is married to Marjorie Bach who is the sister of Barbara Bach (Ringo's wife).

I think it is just a matter of time when a better and complete copy shows up on youtube. Right now this is the "teaser." Stay tuned.
My favorite male vocalist from that era (co-favorite) was also nicely honored:

haha. This was just being posted on youtube during my last post.
I don't know how Linda felt about it but I am very disappointed Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner and Don Felder weren't even mentioned. Doesn't seem right to me. My flight with the band began with them.

When Linda lost her singing voice, it was the exact same thing (MUSICALLY) as Prince, Michael Jackson or David Bowie passing away. We will never hear her sing a new song. When Linda eventually goes to heaven, it will be as if she and her fans have died twice. God bless this girl.
