And now she can be assured that NO ONE will read it. Way to go Lisa. She probably refused to share her toys as a child too.

Maybe she is counting on the Streisand Effect?

Isn't that an actual colloquial term? what does it mean? I couldn't believe when I saw her on cbs sunday morning that she has only done like 100 concerts ever. Is the mag still in existence? I did a google search and on Wikipedia it is a Indian magazine started in 1996. I saw Tony's link but it is an error page now that says to contact Tony if needed (probably for us members and the homepage frequenters). eddiejinnj

Streisand Effect came about because Babs complained about some aerial photos of her Malibu house, insisting that they were taken down off the internet as they invaded her privacy.
The person taking the photos wasn't specifically taking pics of her house from what I remember, just the Malibu coastline - probably few people would have seen the photos where they were originally posted but as Barbra complained the photos went viral and were seen by millions..... hence the Streisand effect

My guess would be the author copyrighted her article and used that as justification for removing the article from the internet. Like it or not, that would be within her right or the magazine's right as the same copyright laws that give songwriters a copyright on their songs plus 75 years also gives writers the same rights. Even though the author of this article will make little to no money from the article because there is no demand for reprints of magazine articles. Maybe she expects someone will pay her big bucks for a reprint?

Definitely never heard of that. I thought I knew something about the BSE effect meaning I thought it had to do with the South Park Mega-Streisand episode but I was mistaken. eddiejinnj

I had forgotten about the "Streisand effect"- then I saw it mentioned twice in one day-- here on this website-- and in an article about getting negative information about yourself removed from the internet.
I had no problem removing the article from the website- I just thought she was a "nasty woman" due to the tone of her email, so I was sort of nasty in return. She is not the first author to contact me about displaying an article on the website- some ask for certain concessions- but she is the first to demand removal. I suppose I have been lucky that more folks have not requested a takedown.
I did have one interviewer who sent me an article but requested that I not post it because it was the policy of his publisher. So that one never made it to the website. After a few years, I did post the article. The original publisher had the article on their official website, so I posted a link to it. Links are tricky because they can become inactive, but there is the Wayback Machine.

Every time I have tried to use the Wayback Machine they never had anything I requested.
