Pandora just alerted me that Linda would be speaking at The Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016.

Well, it is actually a benefit show for Parkinson's research. But unless Linda has somehow been cloned, I don't know that she can be in two places at once. According to news in the link below, she is also scheduled to do Peter And The Wolf with the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra that same night (scroll down): www.sfcv.org/article/its-news-to-me-10-12-2016

Sorry, Erik. As I wrote in a private message to you, my mother passed away. I've kept my distance from this Forum for a number of reasons. Obviously I guess I should have done more sleuthing online instead of just reporting what Pandora listed as an "upcoming event." I apologize.

No problem. As John Lennon said once: "Life is what happens when you're making plans."
But certainly having this line-up for that benefit show (and who knows who else will show up) in L.A. is certainly something else.

Tickets went on sale today for the event at The Ace Hotel on Dec. 11.
I did a little investigating.
"Peter and the Wolf" at Davies in San Francisco is a children's concert that starts at 11 a.m. the morning of Sunday, Dec. 11.
The event at The Ace Hotel is not until the night of Dec. 11. The woman at Davies in San Francisco said it is entirely possible for Linda Ronstadt to finish her performance at Davies in San Francisco and take a plane to Los Angeles and be down here in plenty of time to attend the Tribute to her at The Ace Hotel.
Then I called the Box Office at The Ace Hotel and was told that "There are a number of 'surprise' guests" for the event and they are not at liberty to divulge who they are.
Now, it is entirely likely that Linda might feel it is too much for her to do all of this in one day. On the other hand, she would not need to be "cloned" as one event is at 11 a.m. in San Francisco and the other is at 8 p.m. in Los Angeles and planes make travel between the two cities possible. It's not a given that she will be there, but it's not a given that she won't be either.

Have bought 1 dozen tickets in the lower balcony to take a small group & a few to sell on StubHub. I've written to all organizing entities to recommend using Rosemary Butler, Wendy Waldman & Karla Bonoff inasmuch as they're all in proximity & & should be considered IMO. I'm guessing that Emmylou & Henley will be last-minute additions. I'm also guessing that there will be A LOT of guests announced between now & December 11th, and probably a few unannounced guests who just so happen to be in town.

Same with my mom who had two bad falls in as many years. She ended up living with my younger sister first and then with my younger brother. Being the caretaker is especially difficult. I knew something was happening but did not want to pry. I am sorry for your loss. After my mom's second fall and then various trips to the hospital I told my brother that if mother starts seeing dead relatives visiting her that means her time is close. She saw her older deceased sister that morning and was so excited about it. Her sister came back early evening to take mom home. That tells me things are not final and your mom has returned home where we all will when it is our time. Bless her heart.

Thank you, Rob. And thank you, Kevin.
On a personal note, I must say that "The Complete TRIO Collection" is what I have been listening to and it has been a comfort to hear those voices blending together and to hear, to my ear, previously unheard Linda vocals. Much of the music seems very fitting for what I am going through. Thank you all again.

Rick I am sorry to hear of your loss. Glad to see your posts. Us old timers need to stick around the board. Speaking of old timers, anyone heard from Tony? I think he was in the path of Matthew which created quite a mess on the east coast.

Just received another notice via Pandora that Aaron Neville will be performing Sunday, Dec. 11. But not at The Ace Hotel. He'll be appearing at the Musco Center in Orange, California.
