The full concert audio is posted, taped off the radio...I wouldn't have bothered but I think the audio of Linda's set may be better than in the posted videos so far.
Unfortunately it's obviously playing too slowly. Maybe the audiotape got stretched out over the years, a common problem.
This is another job for Cornish Pirate Man! Please help!
Linda's set begins at apx 35m

Lol, I couldn't wait, I got the mp3, edited her songs and sped it up 5%, that sounds right, 6% was definitely too fast www.sendspace.com/file/cogsbd

You were close philly. Comparing it to the audio on the video you were 2 seconds slow over the whole clip. Here's an even better version (I believe) from the simulcast, which isn't so muffled and better stereo. 1973, Fill My Eyes & First Cut Is The Deepest (mp3, 10MB)I was going to process the video picture (frame by frame, removing noise bars and tape dropout) and then add this audio to it but after several hours work I'd only done five seconds and she hadn't even started singing yet ;D, so I gave up. (unedited Ronstadt segment from our friend LindaAusFan) One of my favorite Linda Ronstadt performances was filmed a little over a year after I met her. It is now referred to as Moon & Star Concert and the entire show concentrated solely on the music of Cat Stevens. Many photos are now beginning to surface from it which are of higher quality than the ones I pulled from the video of Linda’s performance. I will post them as I find them.
The concert may have been one of the majority of ABC In Concert shows that was destroyed for lack of storage space. (how ridiculous as it was a goldmine of talent) A group of Cat Stevens fans had tried to get ABC to release it on video and they never got a response. I found out through a relative in the business that ABC does not have it in their inventory. To complicate matters more that show had two disputed owners….Dick Clark and ABC itself. Neither seemed to be able to prove ownership which is why (my guess) that performances from it remain on youtube until today. The performances that are available are from collectors who seem to have recorded it on their own and were nice enough to offer it up for all to enjoy. Julian, a member of this forum was one such person and luckily for us he purchased the Linda Ronstadt segment from another collector. He also had a couple of Cat’s performances and posted them as well. Someone else has posted other segments from that show.
I would love to know the story behind Linda's appearance here but my guess is that her "new" producer and manager Peter Asher had something to do with it. Included in Linda's band is the late Lowell George (Little Feat) whom it is always great to see.
I have put as many of the segments together as I could find in the order televised. I am missing the Dr. John segment. Can’t find it anywhere. If you would like to watch the “almost complete” show here is a link to my youtube version of the concert: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUMq4sB5dsC9-sO0twhclaTUojC1UvDgy Even though she is wearing a pixie necklace I always found it interesting that Linda’s other favorite is a Moon & Star necklace. Coincidence??

Welcome, Mary, to the forum. My colleagues would not better than I this question. I am sure you will get your answer at least as I am not sure whether it can be done or not. It is easy to join the forum. Maybe, if you feel comfortable you can share how you became a Linda fan. Just a suggestion. Again, welcome!!! eddiejinfl

Linda's 2 Cat Stevens songs are so beautifully, feelingly performed, and her little return trot and curtsy so sweet.
"Love Has No Pride" is also goosebumpy with raw emotion.
Linda looks like early 20s, so fresh like a student still. If I ever get burnout, I always return to early to mid 1970s Linda, and feel better.

I loved Cat Stevens when I was young had all his albums & obligatory poster on my wall.Linda’s section on this concert is one of my favourites of hers ,she sang First Cut Is The Deepest better than anyone else I’ve ever heard who has covered this song.Loved the ‘phew’ after she’d finished & like you I thought her return & curtsy adorable.Wished she could have released Fill My Eyes as a single this song was made for her and would have been a surefire hit. Also Lowell George on slide guitar, not sure if they were an item at this time. The whole audio version of entire concert is on YouTube from The Rare Music Archive Collection if like me you are a Cat Stevens fan. Trying to find out who other members of band were looked on IDMB & it says Kootch played in the concert but I didn’t notice him, maybe it was just on the Cat Stevens section as he did perform with him in the early years.

Is "Moon & Star" an indication of Cat Stevens eventually becoming a Muslim?
