No Day of Rage here.
Been a long year and you have been an outstanding role model on how to live with adversity and thrive. And you keep on going.
Have a wonderful birthday!
Birthday Song Dedication (one of my favorites)
and a version to give you hope for tomorrow's generation

Remembering special birthday on July 15, 1980--opening night of Pirates of Penzance at the Delacorte Theatre. Could it really be 36 years ago?? Doesn't seem possible---many more...

Late in the day but never too late to wish Linda a very happy birthday. You are forever young and forever beautiful to me, and my simple wish that you are happy and at peace in this stage of your life, and that you know you are loved by your family, friends and fans.

From Tucson with Love:
"Take this child, Lord, from Tucson, Arizona, give her wings to fly through harmony & she won't bother you no more."--Paul Simon
Imagine a soprano for whom Philip Glass composes his avant-garde pieces, the girl Lalo Guerrero sang to sleep before she, too, went on to lead the world's greatest mariachi bands or leading the Nelson Riddle Orchestra into a renaissance of the Great American Songbook. Any of those, not to mention Broadway or inspiring a generation of female country singers or spending a decade as the most successful woman rock star, would make for an extraordinary career by any standard. It’s almost absurd to think that one person--this child from Tucson, Arizona--would live all of those dreams. But, that’s what might happen when you use your gifts as though they are merely on loan from God, when you love something like it could be taken from you at any moment. So, Happy 70th Birthday to Linda...and thanks for the song while it was yours to give.

What a lovely post. And very true. Linda is also so greatly under appreciated. Especially her work in the 90s......
I love the variety in her work, there is something for every mood. She has taught me so much about music and introduced me to other music genres that I probably would not have experienced without her work.

Very touching and moving!!!! Very well-written, djay. I moved your thread to birthday posts and wanted to tell you but I forgot to check box to message you about this. My apologies but it was such a moving birthday wish that I thought it should be in here. eddiejinnj

May you have at least as much happiness as you have given all of us.
