I think this might be from a few years ago if you read the article. Would be nice if they included a date of this post unless I missed it.
So assuming this was done a few years ago already I would be curious to know what songs anyone here would play to introduce her or pay tribute to Linda and her career that would span the full length of 40 plus years?

This past Sunday evening, WFUV-90.7FM in New York (Fordham University College, publicly funded station) celebrated Linda's upcoming 70th Birthday by playing several selections from various genres.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT SONGS WERE CHOSEN? THAT WOULD BE INTERESTING.

Hmmm. Ok. This is too hard to do so I guess it would depend on the time I had. These are not necessarily my favorites but if I was trying to introduce an alien to her eclectic sound these are some I would choose:
Different Drum I'll Be Your Baby Tonight The Only Mama That'll Walk The Line Walkin' Down The Line Long Long Time Desperado You're No Good Blue Bayou Back In The USA Hurt So Bad My Blue Tears What's New Lush Life Round Midnight The Waiting Rogaciano El Huapanguero Adios El Gustito/El Sueno Quiereme Mucho Winter Light Walk On Dreams of the San Joaquin For A Dancer Bed of Roses Under African Skies The One I Love Is Gone Lion In The Winter Pretty Bird New Partner Waltz Down So Low (LIVE)

I am sorry. I was working and was not able to listen to the broadcast. However, if you go to their website (WFUV.ORG) you can search playlists.

Interesting list. I give them props for some relatively 'deep cuts'

WFUV is a very cool station! They play a variety of eclectic music and it's not the usual run-of-the-mill radio station. They also showcase relatively unknown artists and I've been introduced to many new artists through their broadcasts. I listen to the station online at work, and it really gets me through the day. One of their longtime DJs, Dennis Elsas, is also a big Linda fan...

Definitely dug deep with "Some of Shelley's Blues" and was nice they played one of her last major efforts; her duet with Webb. eddiejinnj
