These were posted on ebay one after the other, which only made their suspiciously identical signatures more...suspicious. Both come with COAs Attachments:

Noticed there was a third signed copy of HDTW that the last bid was $5.00. Hmm, must be a bad copy! But there are other albums signed by "Linda Ronstadt" on ebay and signed the exact same way. Not as in the handwriting is the same, although it is, but in the fact the signatures all have an upwardly written signature. The three signed copies of HDTW are all written in white ink. Now who in their right mind would think to secure a felt pen with white ink for Linda to sign. And it also suggests it was a single person getting the autographs. Wouldn't Linda have been suspicious of signing three copies of the same album and other albums for the same person? I wouldn't bet my salary on the signatures being signed by Linda at all.

Not only are the signatures themselves the same on the HDTW copies, including the $5 one, but they are in EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE. If you lay a visual grid over the album, you'll see that her signature is in exactly the same place, with exactly the same spacing and placement, on all three. Notice, for example, how the R in her last name is located in the same vertical space above the T in the title's "The", or how the stroke on the L in "Linda" is spaced exactly away from the edge of her dress in all of them. Unless Linda is amazingly consistent in autographing HDTW covers, these are fakes. I would guess printed, since even a forgery wouldn't be that mechanically precise.
