A Woman Ditched Her Clothes for Body Paint and No One Even Noticed Lauren Tuck Wed, Aug 17 9:32 AM PDT
There’s no easy fix for overcoming body-image issues, so one woman went to extremes to overcome hers: walking around in nothing but paint.
Julie volunteered herself to become living, breathing art at the hands of Pusher House, a professional body painter. To do so, she stripped down to just pasties and a pair of nude underwear. Then, House outlined a design with a base coat followed by adding more details including buttons, zippers, rips, and holes, as well as shading and highlights. Lastly, sealant was sprayed all over Julie’s body to set the white T-shirt and ripped jeans.
“Growing up, I never really had much of an issue with my body image until probably late high school,” she said. “I was in a musical and I had to wear a leotard onstage. The next day at school I heard someone talking about my cellulite on my legs. I was always really concerned with if I looked skinny enough and that kinda planted a seed in my head.”

While she was nervous at first, Julie’s fears were alleviated when she saw the final product. “I’m not as scared now because it looks like I’m wearing clothes,” she admitted, adding that wearing the painted ensemble is almost like taking off a shield.
As she walked around in front of multiple people, many didn’t notice until she pointed out that there was something off with her outfit.
“I feel like I conquered a really huge fear that I’ve had. Going outside wearing only body paint is really similar to having insecurities,” she said after the experience. “You feel naked or you feel all these negative things about yourself that no one else sees, and no one else understands.”
Tearing up, she conceded, “Sometimes you overthink things and you don’t want to do things because you’re scared of what other people are going to think.” Her advice? Be strong and don’t listen to what other people say — and do not let it matter so much, because it doesn’t. “What matters inside is what counts the most, and that’s where your strength and your beauty come from first.”

Tech billionaires think we live in the Matrix and have asked scientists to get us out Arjun Kharpal,CNBC Fri, Oct 7 2:37 AM PDT Two of the technology world's most powerful billionaires are concerned we are living in a Matrix-style simulated world and are working with scientists to break us out.
In an article in The New Yorker, writer Ted Friend explains that the idea of the "simulation hypothesis" has been on the rise among tech's elite.
"Many people in Silicon Valley have become obsessed with the simulation hypothesis, the argument that what we experience as reality is in fact fabricated in a computer; two tech billionaires have gone so far as to secretly engage scientists to work on breaking us out of the simulation," Friend claimed.
Neither of the billionaires were named in the piece.
The idea has gained traction in recent years with the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
Earlier this year, Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) boss Elon Musk said that there's "a billion to one chance we're living in base reality", meaning the billionaire thinks the odds are that we are living in a computer simulation. Musk argues that some technology is becoming indistinguishable from real life. He took the example of the game "Pong" which has evolved over 40 years into advanced gaming and virtual and augmented reality.
"If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then games will become indistinguishable from reality," Musk said.
And a Bank of America Merrill Lynch report from last month suggested that there was a 20 percent to 50 percent chance we are living in a simulated virtual world.
Friend's claim in the The New Yorker came in an article based on an interview with Sam Altman, the president of Y Combinator, a start-up accelerator helping companies get off the ground. Altman echoed some of Musk's worries over the advancement of technology.
"These phones already control us," Altman declared. "The merge has begun—and a merge is our best scenario. Any version without a merge will have conflict: we enslave the AI or it enslaves us. The full-on-crazy version of the merge is we get our brains uploaded into the cloud. I'd love that."
"We need to level up humans, because our descendants will either conquer the galaxy or extinguish consciousness in the universe forever. What a time to be alive!”

Elephants are the most amazing animals. Their emotions and behavior span the gamut. They are even quite spiritual. It is just wrong they are hunted down the way they are.

The 2,000 Year-Old Mummified Body of Lady Xin Zhui HD - Archaeology Documentary
The 2,000 Year-Old Mummified Body of Lady Xin Zhui Mummy from various dynasties throughout China's history have been discovered in several locations across the country. They are almost exclusively considered to be unintentional mummifications. Many areas in which mummies have been uncovered are difficult for preservation, due to their warm, moist climates. This makes the recovery of mummies a challenge, as exposure to the outside world can cause the bodies to decay in a matter of hours.
An example of a Chinese mummy that was preserved despite being buried in an environment not conducive to mummification is Xin Zhui. Also known as Lady Dai, she was discovered in the early 1970s at the Mawangdui archaeological site in Changsha. She was the wife of the marquis of Dai during the Han dynasty, who was also buried with her alongside another young man often considered to be a very close relative. However, Xin Zhui's body was the only one of the three to be mummified. Her corpse was so well-preserved that surgeons from the Hunan Provincial Medical Institute were able to perform an autopsy. The exact reason why her body was so completely preserved has yet to be determined.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONESo this is weird. I was at my old house today where I have two feeding stations for neighborhood cats. A cat I haven't seen in two years showed up. His name is Pascha. He was named by a neighbor. I had no idea what it meant until twenty minutes ago.
Pascha, the name by which Orthodox Christians know the yearly celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, comes from the Hebrew word for “Passover.”
So I get back home and on late night radio the host is talking about the holy fire. Huh? Never heard about that either. So I youtubed it and the first video that popped up was from the Greek Orthodox Church of St. John of KRONSTADT!! LOL. Too many coincidences.
Holy Fire descends upon Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem
The Church Of St. John Of Kronstadt. Volgograd. Russia. www.youtube.com/user/Neoikron?feature=hovercard
When in Jerusalem the Holy fire descends in 2017 depends on the date of the Orthodox Easter. In 2017 Easter will be April 16, so thousands of believers around the world will expect the Holy fire to 15 numbers. They say that if in any year a fire will not come down, it will be a symbol of the imminent end of the world. So, I hope that this year in Jerusalem, the Holy Sepulchre, the fire will appear.
If you go back to history, it should be noted that the first evidence of the occurrence of this fire on the territory of the city of Jerusalem, the Holy land, appeared in the fourth century. It always happens since in one place – in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. According to legend, this cave was the body of Jesus Christ after the crucifixion until his resurrection. So, on the eve of the Orthodox Easter, there is a tradition on Holy Saturday, believers await the Holy fire. If the temple itself could not be, it is difficult to do, because public every year becomes more, the process of convergence of fire, you can watch online or on television.
About the ceremony The Holy fire is a ceremony which involves a lot of rules and rituals. Ceremony begins somewhere the day before Easter. This ceremony is called the litany. In the afternoon, the patriarchs make the Procession to the chapel, which is located in the heart of the temple. During the procession carried the lamp. It is not lit and it is there, then the fire appears. Around the lamps is 33 candles, which are a symbol of the years of the life of Jesus Christ on earth before the crucifixion.
In the chapel of the Patriarch enters alone. On the minimum of clothes, and representatives of the Israeli police checked and searched the Patriarch, that he had no items that allow you to fire. While in the temple on the eve of great Saturday, all the lamps, candles and other fire sources are extinguished.
A lampstand is established by the Patriarch right in the center of the bed of the coffin. There's also the perimeter is cotton, and the edges is tape. Then again, the police inspects the chapel, and then the main priest who is already inside and searched, sealed. Nobody knows exactly where does the fire. This mystery persists longer than a Millennium.
Compulsory rituals Mandatory ritual that you should follow in order to fire came, finding in the temple the young people who ask the virgin Mary and the Lord to grant the fire. Witnesses who were in the temple, when the fire was falling, all say that appear out of nowhere flashes of bright light directly above the Sepulchre.
It is impossible to determine exactly the time when in Jerusalem the Holy fire descends 2017 appears. But it is known that it always happens on Holy Saturday that is the day before Orthodox Easter. Look at the Holy fire have not only Orthodox Christians, but also other representatives of Christianity, Buddhists, members of other world religions.
So, the exact time to determine when in Jerusalem the Holy fire descends 2017, impossible. The event is expected to the morning of Holy Saturday, this year it falls on April 15. Then on April 16 believers will celebrate Easter that is
