Just heard this on the radio: Linda is set to record talking (spoken word) songs like Trent Reznor's The Hurt, The Wreck, Cats Cradle, Atlantis to name a few as well as some Aztlan poetry (Alurista’s poems) set to music. Tentative title Tunaluna.
I wonder if this is the other project that John Boylan was talking about?

I could picture her making a spoken word childrens story, and being nominated for a grammy for it.

Time wasting and childish .... It's all in good fun. If I am not mistaken you are from down under fab. Maybe they don't quote celebrate april fool's day there. I could look it up. IMO, please try and refrain from name calling etc on here. To comment on Mr Kaplansky's post, I agree that she would do well with a spoken word album. They tend if I am correct not to gather big sales except in the case of comedy albums but am not sure if they are in the same category or there are different spoken word categories. I think Linda would get a Grammy nod if not win. eddiejinfl PS: Comedy albums are a separate categories.

Sorry Fab, I knew you were from overseas. Some would say Guy Fawkes Day or Mardi Gras are quote childish. I am not an expert by any means in both holidays/events. Of course, I am saying enjoy these holidays safely and not use them as an excuse to do dangerous/poor judgment behaviours. Guy Fawkes Day has toned down because of health and safety reasons. One could definitely say that St Patrick's Day has lost its original meaning and just a day where some people get trashed and become a public danger. I was just trying to keep things peaceful here. We all have opinions. Peace and a great day to all!!!! eddiejinnj
Just started reading what happened at Google with a prank. People need to look at ramifications before doing stuff. An example not related to AFD is when Ellen D. scares people. Not wishing it in the least and I hope it stays innocent but one never knows how one will react to such a surprise or shock to their system.

I remember a few years back someone posted that Linda did the narration for Peter and the Wolf with the SF Orchestra once. Never did find a copy on the Internet - it would be fabulous. Like many from my generation, Captain Kangaroo's version was my introduction to Classical Music back when I was around 5 (and boy, was it scary). I think I'll have to listen to it again.

Yes, Bill, Linda did the narration for "Peter and the Wolf" at Davies Hall in San Francisco a few years back. I forget about April Fools' Day. I have been stung by these in past years. Ronstadtfan, just so you know, I got all excited by this and went searching to find news about it elsewhere on the Web. Given the seriousness of Linda's diagnosis, I think this was in poor taste. I am with Fab on this.

why is Ronstadtfanaz's forum name and the title of the thread misspelled? his user name and the title of the thread have an extra "d" after ron. Is this an April Fool's Day thing or is somebody impersonating him? eddiejinnj

Hi: I tried to moderate this and edit the title but I can't seem to do it. Imo, I think we should put april fool's on the title because even in the posts it is never truly confirmed it was an april fool's joke. We want to provide accurate info on here for the occasional reader especially. thanks!!!!! eddiejinnj

thanks!!!!! maybe you can give a fellow admin a lesson? the body of the text I can edit no problem. in my case, usually to correct a typo a poster/member made. I do them sometimes thinking that what I was thinking got put down correctly then seeing it as such (could be a form of "closure" perceptually/psychologically). Like the april fool edition title lol. eddiejinnj

I went up to the first post and click edit. The subject field was then available for changing. I think the key is clicking on the first post in the thread..

For those into April Fool's Day fun this is the best site: (for some reason proboards will not allow http:// as a prefix here so you need to do it yourself)
http:// hoaxes.org/about
The Museum of Hoaxes was established in 1997. It explores deception, mischief, and misinformation throughout history, playing host to a variety of humbugs and hoodwinks — from ancient fakery all the way up to modern schemes, dupes, and dodges that circulate online.
The museum is divided into a number of different sections. The historical wing presents a selection of history's most notorious hoaxes, from the Middle Ages right up to the present. Our Gallery of April Fool's Day hoaxes celebrates that one day of the year devoted to pranks and practical jokes. The Hoax Photo Archive demonstrates that photography has never been an entirely trustworthy medium of information. And the Tall-Tale Creature Gallery delves into the natural history of species such as the Jackalope and Fur-Bearing Trout.
Finding Us
We're based in San Diego, California. If you're in the downtown area, get on i-5 north and keep driving until you see a giant floating jackalope off to your right. You can't miss it! If you reach LA, you've gone too far. Turn around and try again. Just remember that the giant floating jackalope will now be on your left-hand side.
We're open to visitors 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Come visit us. We'll be waiting for you!
Museum of Hoaxes
Owner Alex Boese
Website hoaxes.org/
Launched 1997
The Museum of Hoaxes is a website created by Alex Boese in 1997 in San Diego, California as a resource for reporting and discussing hoaxes and urban legends, both past and present.[1][2][3]
In 2004, PC Magazine included the site as one of the "Top 100 Sites You Didn't Know You Couldn't Live Without,"[4][5] and Sci Fi Weekly named it "site of the week" for the week beginning 7 February 2007.[6]
Boese has published two books on hoaxes: Museum of Hoaxes (E.P. Dutton, 2002, ISBN 0-525-94678-0) and Hippo Eats Dwarf: A Field Guide to Hoaxes and Other B.S. (Harvest Books, 2006, ISBN 0-15-603083-7). A third book by Boese, Elephants on Acid (Harvest Books, 2007, ISBN 978-0-15-603135-6), focuses on unusual scientific experiments. His latest book is Electrified Sheep, published by Boxtree 2011, is also about strange scientific experiments.

I am not above a Ronstadt-related April Fools prank. But when someone doesn't realize the prank, they can get quite irritated. A few years ago, I made up a story of a Linda Ronstadt cruise from San Francisco to some Mexican resort, with Linda doing three nights of concerts- first night a Stone Poneys reunion, a country/rock night, and a standards night. Trouble is, people started making vacation plans. Then one year, Linda was part of a tribute album to Tiny Tim. For this year, my thought was: Linda Ronstadt's self-title album from 1972 is scheduled to be released in a special 3-disc box set. In addition to the original album, there will be two discs of live music recorded from two sets at The Troubadour. The live songs featured on the original album will be on these extra discs in their original context and order. The set will be packaged in a wooden box with the album cover burned into the wood. But then I decided who needs this nonsense.

I do.
I've always been a prankster at heart and deed. I do admit to filling the sugar bowl at home as a kid with salt and it was all I could do to keep a straight face when family started drinking their iced tea at dinner. Since my iced tea was the only one with real sugar they figured out the culprit.
I do admit to hiding under my brother's bed for hours waiting until he got home from the local bar, and when he turned out the lights for bed I grabbed his ankles just as he stood by the bed. (our house was haunted so it was an extra special prank)
I do admit to putting a home made spider (real looking) into my brothers girlfriends hair as she frizzed it out before combing it down (during the 60's) and waiting in the next room for the screams. I wasn't disappointed.
I was kind of responsible for putting my pet squirrel Georgie inside the hollow back of this old castro convertible couch our Grandma gave to us. It was a huge red velour couch one could get lost on and was the exact couch I was lying on when I first saw Linda Ronstadt, ever. My older sister and her boyfriend loved to sit on the couch and hold hands, etc. I guess he thought the little caresses on his hand were from my sister until she got up to go to the kitchen and the little caresses continued. I never saw anyone jump so high from a reclined position.
Then there was the time me and my dorm buds snuck over to the girls dorms with a homemade cannon we fired off while the girls were watching a scary movie in their tv room (70's) Yes, we managed to escape the campus police who chased us in their cars but were too fat to run. (that was the last time we did that since it made the campus news).
Yes, I did disguise my voice and identity as a County Health official and called one of our dorm buddies after his first "real" date and made an appointment for him to be tested at the clinic for an std.
I do not admit to being directly involved in the Memorial Union incident on the ASU campus that caused it to be evacuated. My co-workers wanted to borrow my life sized grandma cabbage patch (real looking) doll to play a get even joke on the Housing director. I did advise them that to make it more believable they should have grandma lying on his office floor with the chair knocked over like she had a heart attack (dressed as the custodial staff). I did not tell them to write that suicide note attached to her nipple that the paramedics and firemen read after the director rushed them upstairs to his office upon his arrival to work that morning.
ahh the good ole days
