Quote by ausfan2:
It may have been at one of those performances that a struggling "Joan Baez wanna-be" named Emmylou Harris saw Linda and, by her own admission in the recent BBC special on Trio, was "insanely jealous" of her.
Needless to say, Emmy overcame that and became fast friends with Linda when they met in 1973.

Sounds right, Erik!!!! Long engagement with an opening act. It would have been a good show for Emmy to catch and check out. eddiejinnj

There's no Byrds shows listed for the date, "1969-05-23 Ash Grove, Los Angeles, California The Byrds, performing with the help of some friends including Linda Ronstadt," the venue was actually closed on this date, and it was for weeks prior and afterwards, due to a firebombing.

Welcome to the forum, Jason. So you are saying that the 5/23/1969 concert did not happen as the venue was closed that day? Wow, thanks for the correction. eddiejinnj

Linda's schedule & locations kept her away when the Manson murders were taking place in August and September, good karma for Linda.

Going back to the Allen Ludden Betty White incident re: Linda and Steve Martin, I never realized that Ludden had a show called Allen Ludden's Gallery that Linda was on. Maybe, I will go and look up the show. eddiejinfl
