People are downright stupid especially considering the fact they have made a living off of Blackmore's songs for years. Get over it Deep Purple.

Well, Blackmore IS Deep Purple. Well, he and the deseased Jon Lord who played the organ. Blackmore's Night, his project from more recent times with his wife on vocals is pretty interesting as well. Not at all like Deep Purple musically speaking. It's a more folky, zen like new age type of thing. But often with beautiful results. Anyway, inducting Deep Purple without Blackmore would be like inducting the Stones without Keith.

That's the truth. And we've seen this before, like just two years ago, when Kiss wouldn't play their induction because neither Gene Simmons nor Paul Stanley would allow certain former members on the stage with them.

The awards should be given to every person who was a member of that group and ALL should be invited to the Awards show and be invited on the stage to receive it. If an invited group CAN'T or refuses to perform together the Hall of Fame should do like was done for Linda and have other artists do a tribute. That simple.

Since the current lineup refuses to perform with Blackmore, the R&RHoF should have Blackmore give his own induction speech.
