I first heard the next song on a collection of Christmas songs I bought back in the early 1990s. Have never heard anyone else cover it. At one point it gets a little difficult to understand the lyrics, but it amuses me --
And then there is "Santa Baby" and "This Year's Santa Baby" --

When it comes to "Santa Baby", I'd prefer Eartha's to Madonna's (the Material Girl's version is like having a stripper give kids Christmas gifts [IMHO]).
Meanwhile:
"Carol Of The Bells"--Mannheim Steamroller:
"Please Come Home For Christmas"--The Eagles (who are those guys?! [LOL]):
"Here Comes Santa Claus"--Elvis Presley (from his 1957 Christmas album, still the best-selling album of its type in pop music history):
"Happy Christmas (War Is Over)"--John Lennon:

Erik, I agree with you 100% re: Madonna's version. It is like a bad Betty Boop impersonation that just goes on forever.
Here is Darlene Love, a singer who Linda described as being "better than all of the rest of us" --
And then here is Bonnie Raitt with Charles Brown --
and then this one from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers --

And some more....
"I Believe In Father Christmas"--Greg Lake (the middle third of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, from 1975):
"Sleigh Ride"--The Ventures (a West Coast take on an X-Mas classic, from 1965):
"I Wonder As I Wander"--Linda (from her 2000 Christmas album):
"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"--Mannheim Steamroller:
"Worthy Is The Lamb"/"Amen", the final choruses of "Messiah" by George Frideric Handel--Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Toronto Mendelssohn Choir/Sir Andrew Davis:

James Taylor and Yo-Yo Ma -- "Here Comes the Sun" (first appeared on Ma's Christmas album and then was added to an updated edition of Taylor's Christmas album) -- And now for something completely different -- Sean ("Will and Grace") Hayes posted this video to his Facebook page today. He lip-synchs to "Jingle Bells" from Barbra Streisand's 1967 "A Christmas Album." (I love how he shoe-horned himself into "West Side Story") -- Link to Sean Hayes' video on his Facebook page

Two of my favorites:
"Silent Night" - Linda Linda's acapella version is so achingly beautiful and angelic, demonstrates that the most beautiful musical instrument is the voice.
"Holly Leaves and Christmas Trees" - Elvis Cowritten by Red West, one of three bodyguards fired by Vernon in 1976, this wistful song is a song many performers could probably relate to. A sad song of someone's remorse at Christmas time, not at home and home being a place they don't know. Elvis recorded this song in May 1971, not wanting to do a Christmas album at all but Red's song held very special meaning for him, being as he was beginning at that time to spend about half the year away from home. (The May 1971 session was also to record a third gospel album, something else he did not want to do, despite the fact he loved gospel music. The Christmas and gospel albums were projects Colonel Parker decided Elvis would do as an artist, without bothering the artist to see if he wanted to do them.)

Worst Christmas song ever or the funniest? Linda Bennett - An Old Fashioned Christmas (Daddy's Home) Two words come to mind to describe this song: total sh*t! This song will go into my "Worst Christmas Songs" list, which includes Paul McCartney's totally awful "Having a Wonderful Christmas," which had been at the top of the list for the longest time. It just got dethroned by the above piece of crap. Sad to say, the Bennett song was co-written and produced by Brill Building songwriter Paul Vance, who had written such hits as Brian Hyland's "Sealed with a Kiss" (I believe), "Tracy" by the Cuff Links (Ron Dante) and Clint Holmes' only hit, "Playground in My Mind." Seems like Vance's talent for writing good hit songs abandoned him on this dreck.

It is a bad but funny song. I have since become a fan of Bennett after seeing her performance of Cry Me A River. Blew me away. Such confidence.
I wouldn't want to cross her lol. She is so reptilian!!
I hope to find out more about her.

I hope to find out more about her. Wow! I share your enthusiasm for Ms. Bennett! She was/is good. (Is she still around, I wonder?)Have to wonder what she did think about that Christmas song from 1975? Listening to her version of "Cry Me a River," "An Old Fashioned Christmas (Daddy's Home)" just seemed beneath her talent. She deserved better.

The Bee Gees never did a Christmas album, which all the more a pity, but they did do this Christmas medley in 1967:
And although the Bee Gees didn't do a Christmas album, Robin did a Christmas album after Maurice's passing - featured is a full version of "Silent Night":
And then there is the Bee Gees' own "First of May," which isn't a Christmas song per se but features as the first line "When I was small/and Christmas trees were small." It's a song about lost love and Sarah Brightman, featured here, is such a fan, it has become a regular in her concert set list. This version was performed at Christmas time, although there are better performances:

Rob, are you on dial-up? Granted, on my computer I pay for a pretty high-speed internet access as well as a decent plan for my phone, but if I just wait a minute or so, the videos all fill in. I just don't expect to get to the last post in this thread right away. Certainly there have been other threads in the history of this site that have featured beaucoup videos. Sorry if you're getting disconnected. Again, if you do check out this thread, give it a bit of time before trying to reach the last post.

I can rarely come to this thread because it always slows my computer down and then knocks me off the site. Right now all the youtube links went dark that are posted here but it is rare I can even post here now. I have almost the same problem but the computer is not on dial up. I think there is an issue with so many videos being posted from many of us, myself included in the video posting, that causes the slow up. But, it seems to be a temporary problem, lasting only a few seconds. I've had the same problem on other threads where there are quite a few videos. It's likely a transfer of the videos from youtube or whatever source the videos came from. There's not a problem with any other thread on the forum.

I have high speed Cox Cable. Only happens on this thread. Took about ten minutes but nothing loaded. Was able to finally read and type this. Did a malware scan that didn't help much. I actually had difficulty with this thread just after the first couple of posts for some reason and things got worse and worse. Good thing it is just a seasonal thread.

I could be wrong and if I am I apologize but is the above message meant to get us to a website as "clickbait" so that they get some kind of a fee for how many hits they get? A similar message was posted a few weeks ago for another unknown holiday. So I didn't click this one. I am all for people making money but not when it is sneaky.

This recent beautifully mimimalist song has became my favorite song about this often melancholy occasion. It uses the simple storytelling device about an unnamed woman who is "just glad she gets to be around to see another spring come to this town"... perfect..
