Still mining the pages of People Magazine. In the April 2, 1990 issue, there was an article about many celebrities and their private lives.
Quote: Their Private Lives Are a Public Affair. Their Night Moves Are Daily Items. But When the Stars Step Out Together, Is It for Passion, Publicity or Just Friends? It's Time to Separate the Rumors from the Romances.
Here is the page that delved into Linda's life:

Linda was supposedly engaged to Quint for a bit. This is one I've never heard. The only person I'd ever heard Linda admit to being engaged to was George Lucas. Still, I suppose it's likely there could've been others.

Not sure if Ronstadt was ever engaged to George Lucas. In his interview on 60 Minutes he said he asked Linda to marry him, but he never said she accepted, only that they broke up shortly afterwards.

Not sure if Ronstadt was ever engaged to George Lucas. In his interview on 60 Minutes he said he asked Linda to marry him, but he never said she accepted, only that they broke up shortly afterwards. The only reason I remember the story of Linda being engaged to Lucas is that she was the one who mentioned it in an interview, but I can't remember where it appeared, whether it was in a newspaper or magazine. I want to say it was in an online scanned reprint of an Australian magazine. She said she had been given an engagement ring. But, she didn't say why they had broken off their engagement, whether it was on her part or Lucas' part or by mutual agreement. As was typical for Linda (and still is), she kept the details of her private life private. If she had been engaged to Davis - and it's possible - the news was off the news media's radar. Still, they knew the two dated and they could've put one and one together and come up with five, meaning they assumed they were engaged or could've been and reported it as such. Look at all the other celebrities who've dated someone for a while or short time. Many of them eventually are reported as being engaged or secretly married but aren't engaged or married. It's a leap, an assumption that shouldn't be reported as news or fact but is typical of the news media's obsession with being the first to report it.

To my knowledge, Linda has never owned a private plane. She may have chartered one or used a time-share plane, but she's not the type to have one of her very own.

Linda did not like flying I remember her saying, preferring road travel.
