I was wondering, out of all the albums Linda has recorded/released, which one is you favorite album cover and which one is your least favorite album cover? My favorite is: Least favorite: Just curious.

My fave is Get Closer. Vibrant, striking, modern. As a vinyl LP it was great how the photo continued on the back with her legs.
Runner up for fave: The hat box coolness of Lush Life which involved you removing the lid and she's sitting in there. But this only worked with the vinyl LP version.
My least fave is the blah cover for a wonderful album Adieu False Heart. The Japanese version is different with Linda and Ann on the cover and that one's much, much better.
Runner up for least fave: The Different Drum compilation LP with a cover has s muddy creepy illustration of 2 Linda's on the front. WTF? This is also the case with the icky cover for a another compilation called Stoney End

Are we sticking with official studio releases? I would suggest those and only quote official compilations done by her label or authorized by her. My favorite would be Hasten Down the Wind. My least favorite too would be AFH. There should have been some more contrast in the coloring as it is even kind of hard to read all of the words on the cover. The photo of the 2 for the cover as in the Japanese version was very nice. They both look quite happy. Always thought it cool that they used a scrapbook motif for the ghits albums. I love the Lush Life concept. Way cool. Just not my fav as Linda is not technically on the cover. eddiejinnj

My favorite album cover: Hasten Down the Wind (1976) I think a lot of men would pick this one for obvious reasons. Such a beautiful woman and beautiful scenery! But there are so many others that I like, it was hard to choose. Least favorite: This was even harder to choose. Any album cover with Linda's face on it is beautiful to me. So I would pick one that doesn't have Linda on it......LOL. Adieu False Heart (2006)

My favorite (because this is where it started for me): Least: I consider the Trio II cover to be a very bogus attempt by Linda, Dolly, and Emmylou to be cute by having pictures of them as young children on the cover, instead of the three of them together as they were at the time of its release. And no, I will not change my mind on this; don't even pretend otherwise.

Tony ..... You are virtually the opposite of my choices! The ones I am ambivalent about are good. I just always wanted a great cover to go with a great album, and WE RAN and FEELS LIKE HOME just did not do the trick. I wish they could be re-released with amateur fan-created covers.

Okay gentleman . Let me ask you a question. Is my dear friend, Jason the only one to honestly say that Hasten Down the Wind is his favorite album cover? Did the other men not say it was their favorite because their wife was in the room ?. Come on.

On Frenesi, she looks like a retro hottie. eddiejinnj She does look like a retro hottie but I still never much cared for Linda's shorter hairstyles in the 80s. It didn't suit that beautiful face of her's. There was one photo, probably from the photo sessions for the Cry Like A Rainstorm, Howl Like The Wind album where she just looks either very intense or extremely angry or maybe both. Even the image conveyed on the cover of CLARHLTW conveys a distinct look of boredom, disinterest and unhappiness, which is one reason I didn't like that particular cover. She just didn't look happy during that time, even though that album was a huge seller for her.

Did the other men not say it was their favorite because their wife was in the room ?. Come on. As a single man, the front album cover for Hasten Down the Wind is a favorite photo of mine. But, I still prefer the front cover photo for Hand Sown, Home Grown. Linda just radiates her beauty in that photo. She looks like an angel and impossibly younger than what she actually was (22 going on 23 then). But, HDTW runs a very close second for favorite album cover photo.

My Favorite: Greatest Hits Volume II - It's nice to see her full face, without bangs. She has bangs in most every other picture ever taken of her... Least Favorite: Silk Purse. I never understood this...

Silk Purse is a great cover. It probably is her most symbolic choice for an album title. She may be trying to refute the old saying "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". Kind of like saying "you can't polish a t**d". Sorry, hate the word enough that I can't spell it out. She is the beauty that comes shining through even in a pigsty. Quite dramatic huh? lol!!!! eddiejiinj PS: I like the Christmas album cover as it is very bright and holiday-like but the pic inside of her is gorgeous so it should have been the cover

The GH Vol 2 cover from the Mad Love era is gorgeous. Stunning photo. For those that don't know, in the larger pic she is wearing denim and pearls. looks cool. also, while I am in an analytical mood, it reflects Linda to its viewers. She is as polished and beautiful as a person, singer etc but very down home and unassuming. eddiejinnj

The entire layout of the Simple Dreams album is beautifully done with the grainy quality and feminine motif. I especially like the photo of Linda sitting on the trunk on the inside cover.

My favorite album cover is Lush Life. I guess because I don't see things as a competition. I don't have a least favorite. I think they all hold their own as pieces of artwork.

Does anyone else find her Greatest Hits album covers to be beautiful? I love both covers.. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2!!! I wasn't crazy about the album covers except for the photos, which I thought could've been larger. Thought the background color on both were rather atrocious. And didn't they reissue and merge the two albums as a double album with a third cover whose background color was a hideous green? Still, in comparison to other great hits/best of/gold album reissues, they were better than others, save for that hideous green reissue.
