You never can tell about some of these things. Chicago fans do tend to suffer the longest from professional sports championship droughts, at least in baseball and football.

Winning any kind of pro sports title is difficult in any big city in this country; and the Windy City has had a tougher time of it than most.
But then again, take a look at pro ice hockey where I live. It took forty-five years for the Kings (who were introduced as an expansion team to the NHL in 1967) to win their first Stanley Cup (in 2012); and in that time, their rivals from thirty-five miles down I-5, the Anaheim Ducks, won it in 2007 (the Kings got their second one in 2014).
