For the first time since 1975, the NBA's Lawrence O'Brien Trophy is going to be raised in the Bay Area. Last night, with a 105-97 defeat of the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors bought home an NBA title. This marks the second major sports title won in the Bay Area in the last eight months (last October, the Giants won the 2014 World Series).

With the way the Warriors played during the season, they seemed destined to win it all after decades of futility. And to go up against a Cleveland Cavaliers squad that had no less than LeBron James, and win it all under such intense competition, is a monumental feat in and of itself (IMHO).
