Odd site, I don't think The Onion has to worry about the competition here...

That's just...weird.
I suspect sites like these, that ask for your interaction on their "polls", are nothing more than info gathering sites, like those that ask you to interact with them by taking a quiz to find out, for example, "what vintage muscle car are you?" By interacting with them, you give them access to some of your computer's information. It takes time and money to maintain a Web site, so there must be some back-end benefit to whomever owns the site.
In this instance, the entire purpose of the site on the front end is a head-scratcher. Looking at the posted "articles", there's no point to them; they aren't funny, satirical, or even snarky.
On the other hand, the editor of the site must be a Linda fan; otherwise, how to explain that many "articles" on her, of all people?

Linda Ronstadt goes ‘Gangnam Style’ "I have never seen her so dedicated about something before,” said a source close to the singer. Not even Puccini!

well, the site has a lot of famous people streaming across the top. I think, but I haven't checked it out since I don't know the site and don't want viruses etc, they probably do these stories on a lot of people. eddiejinnj

The whole thing is so stupid and ridiculous. They have the same picture and story about Spinee, as Lorde's dog. Who would name a dog, Spinee, anyway?

Linda Ronstadt goes ‘Gangnam Style’ This is so ridiculous that it's funny.... Asked which celebrity he would like to see go ‘Gangnam Style,’ the singer PSY told the journalists : Linda Ronstadt. Since then, the 68-year-old singer is said to have been secretly practising Gangnam Style dance. For weeks. UPDATE 20/04/2015 : This story seems to be false. (read more) Linda Ronstadt on PSY’s most wanted list American news reported earlier this year that PSY (the South Korean rapper behind YouTube’s most-viewed video) chuckled at the thought of Linda Ronstadt hopping around the dance floor, doing his famous horse-riding, ‘Gangnam Style’ dance. A call that did not fall on deaf ears... Singer to practice ‘Gangnam Style’ dance steps several hours a day An insider recently admitted that the singer best known for hit songs like Don't Know Much, Blue Bayou or You're No Good has been secretly practising Gangnam Style for the past couple of weeks. “Linda Ronstadt spent hours working on her dance moves out on the balcony every night, riding an imaginary horse. I have never seen her so dedicated about something before,” said a source close to the singer. Petition's goal: ‘Get Linda Ronstadt to dance live on TV’ Some fans recently launched an online petition to see Linda Ronstadt performing ‘Gangnam Style’ live on American national television. We can't wait to see it.

This is rather lazy satirical writing to say the least... They just come up with ridiculous stories and change the names and maybe a couple of details... For example if you do a search for Beyonce they have a lot of the same or very similar stories as do the Linda articles...

This isn't writing at all. They are trying to lure you to their site by loading their search parameters to net the widest school of surfers. You have to question the motive behind it and leave those sites alone.

You have to question the motive behind it and leave those sites alone. The most plausible explanation, looking at all the facts expressed in this thread, is this site is not benign. The intent could be anywhere from passively collecting unauthorized (by the surfer) data to actively uploading malware into the victims machine. I would concour with Richard and Eddie that the site should be avoided.

I won't make the decision and delete the link but if Tony, Erik, or Rob want to if they think it may be a harmful site then by all means. eddiejinnj

I would just avoid the site on general principles, both for the sake of this forum and for the safety of everybody's individual computers.

Hahaha I recall seeing these same lines in a similar article not so long ago about a new Reba McEntire CD coming in 2016: Oddly enough, Reba did come out with a new album this year, but this article here claims another one next year. All I can say is a skeptical, "mmhmm..." lol!

yeah, my friend rob sent me the recent billboard chart where reba debuted at number one on the country chart. it was so weird as is the pop charts the amt of number one albums/hits. if you happen to be the most popular act or lucky to release an album on a slow week they all seem to debut at number one now. then they fall off. was always the opposite. eddiejinnj
