Rosemary Butler was popular in Japan in the early 1980s, probably more popular than in the U.S.A..

I had that album until, during my CD craze, I got rid of all of my vinyl (idiot).
It was great hearing this song again.
Gotta love that '80s outfit she's wearing on the cover. May those Jetsons shoulders never come back.

It appears this album may have been released with two different covers. Perhaps the original one was considered too racy:

I'm so thrilled to hear this song without having to cue up the vinyl! This was my favorite thing on this Rose LP. The reason it had 2 covers: One cover is the Japanese album, the other is the US release. Rosemary had been asked to sing some songs for a Japanese movie which is how the album came about. Three of these songs are gold singles in Japan. (Next time I'm at Rosemary's house I should take some pictures of her gold plaque certifications on her wall.) So her album came out over there on, I think, Toshiba/EMI Records, and then when there was some kind of merger it was released in the USA by Capitol. I bought it as a teenager in Delaware on the strength of a People magazine review (years before I would ever meet Rosemary). The album was produced by Peter Bernstein, son of Elmer. Peter was an original member of Bryndle in the early 70s with Wendy Waldman, Andrew Gold, Karla Bonoff & Kenny Edwards. (He wasn't in the 90's incarnation of Bryndle). Peter also produced Wendy Waldman's Main Refrain LP. If you're a Rosemary Butler fan, she made a great roots-oriented album about 2 or 3 years ago (can't remember years anymore). It's called You Just Watch Me, has appearances by Jackson Browne, David Lindley, Kenny Loggins. Session players include Lee Sklar & Russ Kunkel as well as Mike Finnigan (who often tours with Bonnie Raitt). She does a swampy version of When Will I Be Loved that isn't a ripoff of Linda's.
