Anyone get this or hear anything from it ? Is it for real ? UPDATE: Although Amazon originally said the item would be delivered Thursday, it is now re-scheduled for delivery by 8 p.m. Friday (today). Will try to listen to it and write about it some time over the weekend. Thanks. Sorry for the delay but out of my hands.

After reading this posting I searched and found these details: Linda Ronstadt The Documentwww.oldies.com/product-view/50051G.htmlReleased: February 10, 2015 Label: I.V. Media Tracks: 1. Radio Broadcast Interview 1983 2. Tracks Of My Tears (1975) 3. Love Is A Rose (1977) 4. Tumbling Dice (1977) 5. Willin' (1976) 6. Lowell George & Linda Ronstadt (Radio Broadcast 1975) 7. It's So Easy (1980) 8. You're No Good (1976) 9. Blue Bayou (1980) 10. Por Un Amor (1981) 11. Desperado (1977) 12. Mad Love (1980) 13. When Will I Be Loved (1975) 14. That'll Be The Day (1976) It looks like a compilation of various interviews and performances. The above list contains at least 2 obvious errors: - Track 6 should be 1973, and
- Track 10 is circa 1987 (not 1981)

I guess the rather morbid track listing in a previous thread about "The Document" was a misprint? At least this one sounds Lindaesque.

Ausfan, thank you for posting this. I feel duped now. Not by you but by what had been posted previously. You (again, not your fault) had posted in the other thread that CD Universe listed the tracks as follows -- " From CD Universe Document CD Document album for sale by Linda Ronstadt is scheduled to be released Feb 10, 2015 on the I.V. Media label. This disc contains over an hours worth of interviews, stories and rarely heard songs from Linda Ronstadt. A fascinating insight into the mind of a true original, this collection is certain to prove a must have item for fans. Document CD music contains a single disc with 9 songs. Linda Ronstadt - Document Album Track Listing 1 Death Is Hanging Over Me 2 Unholy Ghosts 3 Rising Moon 4 PUT YOU DOWN 5 Hotel California (Eagles Cover) 6 Buried Friend 7 My Love Won't Fade 9 Dear Lucifer 10 Fado " Not that I wouldn't find this revised list of some interest, but these titles from CD Universe had the potential of being songs we had not yet heard Linda sing. Or at least that I had not heard her sing. It bothers me when a legitimate organization like an Amazon sells bootleg. Linda is not receiving any royalties or profits from this. I guess there is no more teeth in enforcing copyright infringement/bootlegging. Where is the Recording Industry Association of America?

Sounds more like FRAUD to me. Not sure who you would complain to but when you find out let us know. False advertising should be illegal. That would be one heck of a misprint which I doubt.

I received this in the mail today... am listening to it now.
Track 1- radio broadcast interview 1983 - This is not really a "radio" interview. It is the appearance by satellite of Linda on an Australian TV program that recently showed up on youtube. Sound quality is very good. I would love to have the video. I tried unsuccessfully to download the video from youtube. Track 2- Tracks of My Tears This appears to be the exact same track that appeared on the album Prisoner in Disguise. Track 3- a live performance of Love is a Rose- the CD does not "document" where this came from. Track 4- Tumbling Dice misnumbered as Track 1 on the back even though it's listed fourth- this sounds like it was stolen from the FM soundtrack. Track 5- Willin' (live) Track 6- radio broadcast with Lowell George and Linda Ronstadt (Willin') Track 7- It's So Easy (live recording)- I am thinking this may have come from the 1980 HBO concert. Track 8- You're No Good- I don't think Waddy was playing with Linda in 1976, so the date may be wrong. This might be from the HBO concert too. Track 9- Blue Bayou- live Track 10- Por Un Amor- live recording Track 11- Desperado - a very nice live recording- maybe the HBO concert Track 12- Mad Love also from HBO Track 13- When Will I Be Loved- live Track 14- That Will Be The Day- live
In short, two tracks stolen from officially released albums-- a collection of live recordings, most of them very good, but I like to know the date and venue of live recordings, and that information is not provided here.
Definitely not an essential CD to own-- only for someone like me who is a Linda Ronstadt completist, or a diehard fan, or someone who just enjoys getting ripped off.

Thanks for the info, Partridge. Sounds like a hodgepodge. Which of the live CDs/DVDs would you guys recommend?

My earlier post listing the tracks posted by CD Universe was the only information available at that time. It now seems that this was misinformation to entice potential purchasers. Now the CD has been released the real content has only been listed on www.oldies.com/product-view/50051G.html. It appears that I.V. Media, the entity that has released this CD, has gained "legitimacy" through listings on Amazon, CD Universe and Barnes & Noble without providing any details of the true content. In the last day or so there have been multiple listings of the CD on eBay - none include the track list. Please note that soon to be released "Linda Ronstadt: The Story - A Musical Documentary (DVD) 2015" is also by I.V. Media.

Please note that soon to be released "Linda Ronstadt: The Story - A Musical Documentary (DVD) 2015" is also by I.V. Media. Yes, and I will buy that one too. Gotta have it for the collection. If it has the video of the Australian interview, I will consider it worth owning. None of the recently released Linda Ronstadt DVDs have met my standards for recommendation. When a DVD or CD is released that I think is worth owning, I feature it on the main web page. How odd is it that there are so few official/quality video DVD releases of Linda Ronstadt? As for what I would recommend, my favorite is probably the Johnny Cash DVD: Johnny Cash DVD w/ 4 Ronstadt songsI also like this out-of-print DVD of Randy Newman that features 2.5 Linda Ronstadt songs, but only if it can be found under $15: Randy Newman Live at the OdeonOf course, if you enjoy the mariachi period, you will want the Canciones DVD: Canciones de mi Padre

I guess there is no more teeth in enforcing copyright infringement/bootlegging. Where is the Recording Industry Association of America? As Partridge has noted in his review (thanks for that, btw, Partridge), two of the songs were taken from officially released albums. Those would be the only recordings the RIAA or Warners-Asylum (or whoever they are now) could level any kind of charges of copyright infringement against the manufacturer of "The Document." They'd have no case for copyright infringement on work they didn't own, although HBO could sue for copyright infringement for the pilfering of material from Linda's concert for them - assuming they have the rights on that concert. The songwriters or their estates and the music publishers could sue for infringement if royalties are not paid, as could Linda herself as they are profiting on her work and not being paid. Partridge mentions a live version of "Love Is a Rose" from an unknown source. I have a vague recollection of Linda singing that song on the Midnight Special (I think) and from another variety show I don't remember the name of. But, I think the song was also part of the concert footage that was filmed in Atlanta and in Germany, and it could be from either of those sources. Of course, maybe one way to steal the thunder and steal that company of potential sales would be to post the material to youtube, which more than likely is where they pilfered the material from as well.

Tony, I just got around to listening to "The Document" last night. I agree that it probably is not something for most people. However, I don't remember ever hearing this interview done by Australian TV before so, I must say, if it is possible, I just fell in love with Linda all over again hearing how feisty and articulate she is during this interview. I don't want to start a "controversial" thread by discussing politics here but I appreciated hearing Linda discuss her politics and beliefs. The sound quality is not great on some of the live tracks. I imagine some might be copied off of the audio from YouTube. That said, it did take me back to the day of having seen Linda during the 1970s. I was in my car and had Linda blaring pretty loud. Ah, youth.
