both Annie Lennox and Diana Krall are releasing cover albums in the next few months. Can't find a full track listing for Diana's although she is covering Desperado, Elton's "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" amongst other tunes .... Diana is a nice vocalist (although she has no stage presence - I almost walked out of a concert of hers years ago, soooo bored!)
Track listing for the Annie Lennox album, to be called Nostalgia :
- Memphis In June
- Georgia On My Mind
- I Put A Spell On You
- Summertime
- I Cover The Waterfront
- Strange Fruit
- God Bless The Child
- You Belong To Me
- September In The Rain
- I Can Dream, Can’t I?
- The Nearness Of You
- Mood Indigo
Interesting .....

I think she is a nice vocalist, if I wanted stage antics I would go to see a circus (but that's me)..

I didn't want antics, just a presence ..... Performing with your back to the audience, with barely a word spoken was unnecessary. But I do like her recorded work.

Just read where Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett are releasing a duets album in October called "Cheek to Cheek." On it. Lady G does a solo version of "Lush Life." Hmmm...
I really like Annie Lennox and look forward to this (although I'd quibble that we really don't need another version of "Summertime"). As for Krall, she doesn't have much presence in the studio, either, as far as I'm concerned. As a vocalist, she tends to make everything sound the same to my ear. Not that she's a bad singer--she's fine enough--more that her extremely low-key, sleepy style only works for me a track at a time. I tried an entire album but, like Fab, almost walked out...
