does anyone know whether this info is correct .... seems like a lot of time and money was spent on this.
Trio - The Queenston Trio ( the first Trio album 1978 ) that still has not been released. ( the aborted trio album)Longtime friends and admirers of one another, Parton, Ronstadt and Harris first attempted to record an album together in the mid-1970s, but scheduling conflicts and other difficulties (including the fact that the three women all recorded for different record labels) prevented its release. Emmylous hausband and produser ,Brian Ahernprodused the whole album. Linda also did not agree on the way Brian produced the album. They where planning a big tour and they actually finished the album. the album had a much more electric sound than what came out in 1987, wich was a production with actustic instruments..anyway they had recorded some songs before they recorded this album, If I stop dreamin( for the Luxury Liner album ) and the song " Light of the Stable( with also Neil Young ) they knew they had a a very good sound and could harmonise great...They also sat in on each others conserts on various occasions and Dolly included them on her Tv show.they finished everything even the photosessions. But it was never released .Some of the fruits of those aborted 1970s recording sessions did make it onto the women's respective solo recordings. "Mister Sandman" and "Evangeline" appeared on Harris' album Evangeline and Parton's "My Blue Tears" was included on Ronstadt's 1982 album Get Closer. Rodney Crowell's "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" was on Harris' Blue Kentucky Girl album. Parton and Ronstadt also recorded a version of the traditional ballad "I Never Will Marry", which appeared on Ronstadt's 1977 Simple Dreams album, though that was recorded separately from these sessions. (During this time, Ronstadt and Harris also covered a number of Parton's compositions—Harris covered "Coat of Many Colors" and "To Daddy", and Ronstadt recorded "I Will Always Love You"—for inclusion on their various solo albums during the mid- to late-1970s.)Emmylou has mentioned in different interviews that she is planning a trio box, with alternative outtakes as well as the first aborted album in the near future.
Known Set List: Even Cowgirls get the Blues - Mister Sandman - My blue tears - Evangeline - Bury me beneath the weeping willow- Silver treads and golden needles - Palms of Victory - Lights of The stable - I never will Mary - and more.....
