For a Midwestern guy, I have to agree on this! Go Blue!!!
(Sentimental favourites of mine have always been the Dodgers. IDK why--maybe it's because of the whole glamour/hype/idealism of LA/Hollywood. And I am not a National League fan either!)

I remember back when I was a kid my grandfather would watch the dodgers on tv, while at the same time he listened to the game on the radio..

Considering that the Dodgers had such a godawful start (and manager Don Mattingly's head was on the chopping block for most of May and June), their explosive July and August was just unbelievable--going from last to first in the NL West in the span of eight weeks. I, of course, must root for them because it has largely been a slow sports year in this part of the world. They just have to avoid the injury virus.

Well, I am not a Dodgers fan but I am pulling for them because of former Yankee stalwart Don Mattingly. Yes, their turn around was amazing, and besides I am tired of the Cardinals being in the Series...

An extra-innings affair like this is always disappointing; but for it to happen in the first game of the NLCS is doubly dispiritng, since it really forces the Dodgers into a corner (IMHO).

Winning tonight and tomorrow would sure help (natch!!) Let's hope. Nothing worse than to see them Cards again in the Fall Classic. And I can sympathize in robertaxel's sentiment above!

It definitely does get tiresome after a time to seemingly see the same team in the World Series year in and year out--but in all good honesty, that's what a lot of people who live outside the New York area have often thought of the Yankees too. I figure if the Dodgers do win the next two games (a big if, granted), then who knows?

Well, we can forget it now. It'll be beer and beans in the 2013 World Series: St. Louis vs. Boston (grumble, grumble).

If its any consolation, the Cards are likely to get their comeuppance in the Series.

It'll be worth watching, I suppose, though many of us in L.A. would probably rather have both teams kill each other.
