I said it before and I'll say it again, her diamond tennis bracelet she wore during Living in the USA.

If I could have something of Linda's, I wouldn't want anything but her, as a friend for life or something more.

Those trademark hoop earrings would be cool to have but I would really love a lock of her hair. Maybe it could be used for cloning some day. Granted, it wouldn't have Linda's essence or soul attached but having someone who looked like her would be nice to have around and there is the possiblilty that she would be able to sing. I also wouldn't mind having one or more of her cats being a cat person myself.

suzannes, I wanted that damn jacket! I wouldn't fit into it anyway, so if I can't take the jacket I will take the 911 that was up for sale online a while back. She sold the car long ago, but it did belong to her at one time.

Cool thread!
I guess I'd go with the satin jacket/roller skates from the Living In The USA cover.
If not, the china doll blue dress she wore in that 1978 The Summit concert. Best. Stage. Outfit. Ever. (To me.)

I really love the whole look she had during that period. Yes, a lock of hair would be so nice. I bet it would be really soft and silky. As for cloning.....if it could happen......I would take a copy of Linda right now! She is the perfect woman. Though it still would not be Linda. I'm also a cat person, so I'd love to have one too. Another item I was thinking of was her famous Cub Scout outfit. That would be awesome to have......Linda's body was in that! Or how about the polka dot dress she wore for her "Get Closer" album and tour? But seriously.....as others here have said......I would only want Linda herself. None of those items could make up for that. To have an opportunity to meet her in person would be the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. Even better, if I somehow got to know Linda on a personal basis and developed a friendship with her, that would be more than I could possibly dream about.

oh rats, I thought the questioned pertained to something material of hers or tangible.. and yes, Linda's friendship would topple "the tennis bracelet." any day, silly me. Speaking of, is there a clear and close up shot of that piece on her actual wrist. I imagine, the bracelet was very expenisve as she hinted in the redbook article from 1979 or 1980.. . I picture it like this close up..

I'd like her Prius, please ;D But seriously, I'd most like to have her collection of guitars, I understand it's a mighty one. But she'll probably be giving that to her kids, rather than her loyal fan!

But she'll probably be giving that to her kids, rather than her loyal fan! I've never heard of Linda being a collector of guitars. Any idea on the number of guitars she owns? Collecting guitars seems to be something a lot of singers and/or musicians do with the money they make from their sales. Elvis had a large number of guitars - many of the guitars he was seen playing in his movies were his own guitars. I can't remember who it was but there was one musician who owned something like 200 guitars! Think it was the guy who played guitar in Cheap Trick. Howard Leese, formerly of Heart, also has or had a large collection of guitars. One has to wonder though as with as busy a schedule as some of them had or have, how they ever found the time to play on all of them?

My guess is if she collect guitars, the majority of them are acousitc, which brings the question that someone on here might have some insight to, does the artist own the instruments that are played on stage or do the back up musicans who play them? I am asking this because a while back Ronstadt had several items up for sale on ebay, I think I remember correctly they were being sold because she no longer had a need for them. I was wondering if it was because she no longer performs, which had me thinking that maybe the artist owns the equipment and instruments. I remember an amplifier was being sold. I think this was around the time she was selling lamps and home goods she no longer had use for on ebay.

I'm a little leery of someone claiming to be Linda selling her items on ebay, although I do know of friends of celebrities selling items that a celebrity gave to them. I've seen quite a few of Linda's canceled checks on ebay, which kind of had me wondering where the person who had them got them from? Sometimes you have to wonder if the items offered were obtained through unethical means? A few years ago, someone offered up an electric off white Gretsch 12-string guitar (White Falcon model, I believe) that they claimed had been owned by Michael Nesmith of the Monkees and could be seen in the Monkees's tv series. The party was asking a nice little bundle for the guitar but there was a hitch: Nesmith had taken the guitar to a guitar shop for repairs, and the guitar was stolen while in the shop. Nesmith never got the guitar back. Gretsch made another electric 12-string for him, but nothing was heard on the original guitar until it turned up on ebay. And then, as soon as it was said the guitar had been stolen, the ad disappeared off of ebay rather quickly. And no one could remember the name of the seller or where they were located at, but I believe stolen property would still belong to the one it was stolen from. I know Paul McCartney expressed some frustration that someone had offered up his handwritten lyrics for "Scrambled Eggs." McCartney would drop the lyrics for the song but keep the song's melody for another set of lyrics. That song being, of course, "Yesterday." I can't recall if McCartney got his lyrics back but one does have to wonder how others come into the possession of those items, and why they don't return them to the rightful owners?

That lavender mini dress with the red and yellow stripes she wore all the time in the early days, and the shiny mini dress with the bell sleeves she wore on Playboy After Dark. I would then give them to one or two of my female friends and ask them to wear them as much as possible, with no bra

Do you know if the lyrics for "Scrambled Eggs" are available?

LOL Scrambled Eggs?? Gawd, I'll never listen to the opening line of that song again without mentally replacing "scrambled eggs" for "yesterday" and snickering. Do you know if the lyrics for "Scrambled Eggs" are available? I tried finding the lyrics online - found some but the lyrics didn't match the lyrics I remember reading about when someone put the lyrics up for auction. The beginning lyrics was the one I remember reading in the paper as: Scrambled eggs, Oh my baby, I love your legs. Sounds like a winner, eh wot? Maybe not, but I'm more dubiously doubtful about the lyrics claimed on a Beatles page. Those lyrics don't read like something Paul McCartney would've written. More like an attempt by a fan to pass off his (or her) incredibly bad lyrics as a lost Beatles song: Scrambled Eggs Scrambled Eggs Have an omelet with some muenster cheese. Put your dishes in the wash bin please So I can clean the scrambled eggs. Join me, do There are lots of eggs for me and you I've got ham and cheese and bacon too So go get two and join me, do. Fried or sunny-side Just aren't right. The mix-bowl begs. Quick - go get a pan And we'll scram-ble up some eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs. Scrambled eggs Good for breakfast, dinnertime or brunch Don't buy six or twelve - buy a bunch And we'll have lunch On scrambled eggs. In reality, the lyrics for the above read more like a a set of lyrics written for a radio and/or tv commercial, and they're a pretty sorry lot. If Paul did write them, it's an alternate set of lyrics but it's not the one that was up for auction.

I surprised no one's every mentioned her "ring". For part of the 70s, she wore a ring on her ring finger. It didn't look expensive, and I often wondered if it was a "friendship/pre-engagement" ring from a suiter (and who) or if it was a ring she bought (perhaps a feminist statement). Perhaps Dianna can explain the formalities about wearing rings on the ring finger - could be the closest she got to an engagement ring. In my mind's eye, the same photos/videos show a little gold-heart ring on her left-hand little finger also. She never really seemed to have a large amount of jewelry (given her wealth), and what little she did have she seemed to wear always. Again, gifts from others or from herself? I wonder if the crescent/star necklace was a gift from Cat Stevens. She had another long necklace later with little gold bits that wound around her neck a couple of times. The silver bangles were another look that lasted a year or two. I don't remember her wearing earrings after she stopped wearing the big hoop ones.

I'll bet she makes great pancakes. I know she bakes really good homemade bread. There's a picture of a loaf of bread she baked on the back cover of her "Feels Like Home" CD. I remember her talking about it when she was on "Regis & Kathie Lee." I would love to have a slice of it warm, straight out of the oven, a hot cup of tea (I think Linda's a tea drinker) and a whole afternoon of great conversation with Linda. Now that would be awesome!

Yeah, I could just see myself right now. I'd be nervous as heck to begin with, probably hyperventilate and then pass out in her arms. That would be a good way to go wouldn't it?
